More Than Just Umrah Packages

14 Nights Umrah Packages from the UK | From £625 per Person, £45 a Night

A 14 night Umrah package starts at £625 per person, including return flights, your Saudi visa, hotels in Makkah and Madinah, and every transfer once you land. Eight nights in Makkah, six in Madinah.

It is the cheapest per night we sell, at £45 against £71 on a 7 night trip. Same flights, same hotels, same visa. The flight cost does not change however long you stay, so it spreads further.

But value is the least interesting thing about a fortnight.

Fourteen nights is a different kind of trip

Seven nights is a pilgrimage you fit into your life. Fourteen is a period where you live somewhere else.

The change happens somewhere in the second week and everyone describes it the same way. You stop visiting Makkah and start being in it. You have a route, a gate, a spot. The extraordinary becomes ordinary, and ordinary is where most people say the depth actually was.

Quick answer

14 nights from £625pp at 3 star, £769 at 4 star, £825 at 5 star.

£45 a night, the cheapest per night we sell.

Eight nights in Makkah, six in Madinah. The split can be changed.

Typically ten working days of leave, so a standard two week block.

Includes flights, both hotels, the Saudi visa and all three transfers. Hold with a £99 deposit.

What actually changes at a fortnight

Five things, and none of them is simply more of what a shorter trip gives you.

You can afford a bad day

This is the biggest one and it is worth more than any hotel upgrade.

On a 7 night trip, a stomach upset on day four costs you a quarter of the trip. A migraine, a bad night, a child who will not settle, an argument with your brother about the taxi. Each one takes something you cannot get back.

On fourteen nights you miss a Fajr and go tomorrow instead. That is the whole difference, and it removes a pressure most people do not notice they were carrying until it lifts.

You develop a routine

By the end of the first week you know which entrance is quiet at Asr, which stairwell to the upper Mataf moves fastest, which shop sells dates at local prices rather than pilgrim prices.

You start seeing the same faces. The man who sits in the same place before Maghrib. The family from Birmingham two floors down. On a week you are a visitor. On a fortnight you become a regular, which sounds trivial and does not feel it.

Ziyarat stops being a coach tour

On a short trip, Ziyarat is a half-day blitz where you are photographed at four sites and back on the bus. On fourteen nights you can go to Uhud in the morning and stay an hour without watching the clock, or visit Masjid Quba on a day when nothing else is happening.

You can perform Umrah more than once, properly

Plenty of people do a second or third Umrah on a longer trip, returning to the Miqat at Masjid Aisha in Taneem, a few kilometres out. On seven nights that means giving up a chunk of the little time you had. On fourteen it fits into a day that had nothing else in it.

You get bored, and that turns out to matter

Nobody says this in a brochure. Somewhere around day eight or nine the novelty wears off and you have an afternoon where you are not moved by anything in particular.

Almost everyone who has done a fortnight says that is when something shifted. The trip stopped being an event they were having and became a place they were living. If you have been on a short Umrah and felt it went past too fast to absorb, this is the thing you were missing.

The three phases of a fortnight

A two week trip does not run day by day the way a short one does. It runs in phases, and knowing the shape helps you plan the middle rather than only the ends.

Phase one: days one to four

What happens

You fly, enter Ihram before the Miqat, land at Jeddah and transfer to Makkah. Umrah is usually day two, after you have slept. Day three is a rest day whether you plan it or not, because the flight and the adrenaline catch up.

What to plan

Nothing beyond the Umrah itself. No Ziyarat, no ambitious schedule, no day trip. Let the first four days be about arriving.

Phase two: days five to nine

What happens

The Makkah stretch, and the most productive part of the trip. You have your bearings, your body has adjusted, and you have five clear days.

What to plan

Makkah Ziyarat if you want it. A second Umrah from Taneem. Tawaf at different hours, including the one past midnight that almost nobody tells you about. This is also when to do anything that needs energy, because you will not have more later.

Phase three: days ten to fifteen

What happens

You move to Madinah around day nine or ten, four and a half hours by coach. The pace drops immediately and most people are ready for it by then.

What to plan

The Rawdah, the Madinah Ziyarat sites, and at least two days with nothing in them. Six nights in Madinah is generous by any standard and the temptation is to fill it. Do not.

The dip is normal

Around the transition, somewhere between day eight and day eleven, a lot of people flatten out. Tired legs, homesickness, a sense that the trip has gone on longer than expected.

It passes, usually within a day or two of settling into Madinah. Knowing it is coming is most of the answer.

The 140 walks

Here is the number that should decide your hotel, and it is one nobody puts in front of you.

Do the arithmetic

Fourteen days. Five prayers a day. There and back each time. If you attend most prayers at the mosque, you are making somewhere in the region of 140 journeys between your room and the Haram or Masjid an-Nabawi across the trip.

The honest conclusion

Distance matters more on a 14 night trip than on any other length, and it is the one thing people underestimate when they choose the longer package to save money.

If your budget is fixed, the arithmetic often points the other way than you expect. Twelve nights at 500 metres will beat fourteen nights at 1.2 km for most people, because by the second week that walk stops being a walk and starts being a decision about whether to go at all.

The luxury page sets out the proximity bands properly if you want to see what closing the gap actually costs.

The honest downsides

We sell this package and we would still rather you knew what you were taking on.

It is physically demanding

Two weeks of walking to the mosque five times a day in heat is genuine exertion, particularly for anyone who does not walk much at home. People come back having lost weight without trying, and people also come back with knee trouble they did not leave with.

Children run out around day ten

Under-tens generally do brilliantly for the first week and then hit a wall. If you are travelling with young children, ten nights is usually the better call and we will say so rather than sell you the longer package.

Two weeks away from work is not just leave

For the self-employed and small business owners, a fortnight is income as well as annual leave. Worth doing that calculation honestly before you book, because it sometimes changes the answer.

Homesickness is real, especially on a first trip

It usually lands in the middle. Not a reason to book shorter, just a reason not to be surprised by it.

A bad hotel choice compounds

A cramped room or a noisy one is a minor irritation for seven nights and a genuine problem for fourteen. This is the length where paying attention to the property, not just the star rating, earns its money.

Who we would steer elsewhere

Families with children under about eight. Anyone with a knee, hip or back problem that makes repeated walking difficult, unless you book very close in. And anyone who is going because it is cheaper per night rather than because they want a fortnight, since that is optimising the wrong thing.

Tell us your situation and we will say if 14 suits

One 14 night trip or two 7 night trips?

A question we get regularly, usually from people who have been once and want to go again.

What two short trips cost you

Two sets of return flights, which is the largest single cost in any package. Two visa applications and two fees. Two sets of travel days, so four days spent in transit rather than two. Two sets of jet lag and two sets of arrival fatigue.

The arithmetic

Two 7 night trips at £499 comes to £998 for fourteen nights on the ground. One 14 night trip is £625 for the same fourteen nights. You are paying £373 more for the privilege of doing the travel twice.

When two trips genuinely wins

One situation, and it is a real one. If you want to go in Ramadan and also at another time of year, those are different experiences and doing both is not the same as doing one long trip.

Also if your leave comes in one-week blocks and cannot be combined, which is true for some shift patterns. In that case two sevens is not a preference, it is the only option available.

What we would suggest instead

If the pull is that you want to go more often rather than for longer, look at the multiple-entry visa position and talk to us. There is more on the visa page.

Multiple Umrahs on a longer trip

A fortnight gives you room for this and a lot of people take it.

How it works

To perform Umrah again you re-enter the state of Ihram from outside the boundary. Most people use Masjid Aisha at Taneem, a few kilometres from the Haram, which is the nearest Miqat for someone already in Makkah.

You travel out, make your intention and enter Ihram there, return, and perform Tawaf and Sa’i again.

The practicalities

It takes a few hours end to end rather than a whole day. Taxis run constantly and it is inexpensive. You will want a second set of Ihram garments, which is worth packing anyway on a fortnight.

How often

Entirely up to you and there is no fixed number. Some people do one extra, some do several, and plenty do none and spend the time in the Haram instead, which is its own answer.

What we would say is that a second Umrah performed unhurriedly on a quiet day is worth more than three squeezed in because you have the time.

The leave arithmetic

Fourteen nights is fifteen days door to door.

Why fourteen is easier to arrange than twelve

Counterintuitive, but true for a lot of people. Fifteen days spans two full weekends and lands as a clean two week block, which is how most employers think about leave. Twelve or thirteen days is an awkward request that leaves a stub of a week at either end.

Where it fits without a fight

The English summer holidays, the two week Scottish October break, Easter in most authorities, and the Christmas period. If you have school-age children, the calendar is already giving you fourteen night windows.

If you are retired

Then none of this applies and you should book fourteen, or longer if you want it. Ask us about extended stays.

Note where the gain sits. Going from seven to ten saves £16 a night. Ten to fourteen saves another £10. Twelve to fourteen saves £3.

So the value case for fourteen over twelve is thin. Book fourteen because you want the fortnight, not because of the per-night figure.

The 4 star question at this length

On a short trip, 3 star is easy to recommend. On fourteen nights we would push you toward 4 star if the budget stretches, purely on distance, because of the 140 walks. It is £144 more across the trip, which is about £10 a night for roughly half the walking.

How the price is set

We check comparable UK packages every month and sit £20 under the lowest we can find for the same nights and the same hotel tier. Check that whatever you compare us against includes the visa and all three transfers.

Tier detail: 3 star, 4 star, 5 star. Price the main concern? See the cheap packages page.

The month matters more at this length

Over fourteen days you are exposed to whatever the weather is doing for twice as long, and the heat compounds rather than averaging out.

If you can only go in summer

Book close to the Haram and restructure your day. Tawaf at Fajr or after midnight, rest through the middle of the day, and accept that you will not attend every prayer at the mosque. That is a sensible fortnight rather than a failed one.

Month pages: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.

What is included

  • Return flights from your nearest UK airport, one ticket, bags checked through
  • Hotel in Makkah, named in writing with the distance in metres and the nearest gate
  • Hotel in Madinah, same detail
  • Saudi Umrah visa, submitted through Nusuk and tracked to approval
  • Airport to hotel transfer on arrival
  • Makkah to Madinah transfer, around four and a half hours by air conditioned coach
  • Hotel to airport transfer at the end
  • A named agent on WhatsApp throughout, at Saudi hours

Not included

Travel insurance. Your meningococcal ACWY vaccine, which is a visa requirement. Meals beyond breakfast where breakfast applies. UK airport parking or train fares. Anything you buy out there, including a second Umrah trip out to Taneem.

A note on packing for a fortnight

Less than you think. Laundry is easy and cheap in both cities, so most people over-pack badly on their first long trip. Two sets of Ihram, comfortable shoes you have already broken in, and medication with the pharmacy label in your hand luggage.

The flights and hotel page sets out the full eight-item checklist if you want to compare our package against another quote properly.

How to book

  1. WhatsApp +44 7737 144 335 or call. Tell us the month or a date range, how many adults and children with exact ages, and your nearest one or two airports.
  2. Tell us if you want the standard eight and six split or something different.
  3. We send an itemised quote the same day. Airline, flight numbers, both hotels named, both distances in metres, room configuration and total price.
  4. Pay a £99 deposit per person. Interest-free instalments on the balance when you book four or more months ahead, which on a fortnight for a family is usually the sensible route.
  5. Book your ACWY vaccine appointment. It is a visa requirement and needs at least ten days before you arrive.
  6. Send us passports, photos and ACWY certificates by WhatsApp.
  7. We submit the visa through Nusuk and track it to approval.
  8. The day your visa lands, book your Umrah permit and Rawdah permit in the Nusuk app. On a fourteen night trip you have more chances at a good Rawdah slot than on any shorter package.
  9. You travel. Your named agent is on WhatsApp throughout.

14 nights Umrah: 80 questions answered

Grouped by topic. Direct answer first, detail underneath where it earns its place.

The basics

How much is a 14 night Umrah package?

From £625 per person at 3 star, £769 at 4 star and £825 at 5 star, all inclusive of flights, visa, both hotels and all transfers.

What is the per night cost?

£45 at 3 star. The cheapest per night we sell.

How is it split between the cities?

Eight nights in Makkah and six in Madinah as standard.

How many days is 14 nights?

Fifteen days door to door, counting both travel days.

Is 14 nights the same as a 15 day package?

Usually yes, but check. Some agencies advertise days and some nights, and the difference is a whole night.

Is it really the best value?

Per night, yes. Against twelve nights the gain is only £3 a night, so book fourteen because you want the fortnight rather than for the arithmetic.

How much more is it than 7 nights?

£126 more in total, for double the time on the ground.

Why does a longer trip cost less per night?

Because the flight is the single biggest cost and it does not change however long you stay.

What a fortnight is actually like

What is different about 14 nights?

You can afford a bad day. A missed Fajr or a stomach upset costs you nothing, because you go tomorrow instead.

Does it get boring?

Around day eight or nine, a bit. Almost everyone says that is when the trip stopped being an event and became a place they were living, which is the point.

Is there a slump in the middle?

Commonly, somewhere between day eight and eleven. Tired legs and a bit of homesickness. It usually passes within a day of reaching Madinah.

What should I plan for the first four days?

Nothing beyond the Umrah itself. No Ziyarat, no schedule. Let the first phase be about arriving.

When is the most productive part?

Days five to nine. You have your bearings, your body has adjusted and you have clear time.

What do I do with six nights in Madinah?

The Rawdah, the Ziyarat sites, and at least two days with nothing scheduled. The temptation is to fill it. Do not.

Will I get bored in Madinah?

Madinah runs at a slower pace and most people find six nights there restful rather than long. It is usually the part people say they miss.

Do people really develop a routine?

By the end of the first week, yes. You know which entrance is quiet, which stairwell is fastest, and you start seeing the same faces.

The distance question

How many times will I walk to the mosque?

Around 140 journeys across the fortnight if you attend most prayers. That is the number that should decide your hotel.

Does hotel distance matter more on a longer trip?

More than on any other length. At 1.2 km you are looking at roughly 35 hours of walking across the trip.

Should I book 14 nights far out or 12 nights close in?

Twelve nights at 500 metres beats fourteen at 1.2 km for most people. By the second week that walk becomes a decision about whether to go at all.

Should I upgrade to 4 star for a fortnight?

If the budget stretches, yes. It is £144 more across the trip, about £10 a night, for roughly half the walking.

How far is a 3 star hotel?

Typically 700 metres to 1.2 km, usually with a shuttle.

How far is 4 star?

Typically 300 to 700 metres.

How far is 5 star?

200 to 500 metres, or under 200 on the luxury tiers.

Will you name the hotel before I pay?

Both of them, in writing, with the distance in metres and the nearest gate.

Does the room matter more on a long trip?

Considerably. A cramped or noisy room is an irritation for seven nights and a problem for fourteen.

The downsides

Is 14 nights physically hard?

It is genuine exertion. Two weeks of walking to the mosque five times a day, often in heat, especially if you do not walk much at home.

Is it too long with children?

Under-tens generally do well for a week and then hit a wall around day ten. We would suggest ten nights instead.

Is it right for elderly parents?

Often yes, because of the no-pressure argument, but book close to the Haram. A fortnight far out is harder on an older traveller than a week far out.

What if I get homesick?

Common on a first long trip and it usually lands in the middle. Not a reason to book shorter, just worth expecting.

Is two weeks away from work a problem?

For the self-employed it is income as well as leave. Worth doing that calculation honestly before booking.

Who should not book 14 nights?

Families with children under about eight, anyone with knee, hip or back trouble unless booking very close in, and anyone choosing it purely on the per-night price.

Will you tell me if it is the wrong length for me?

Yes. We would rather sell you ten nights that works than fourteen that does not.

Leave and timing

How many days off do I need?

Typically ten working days, which is a standard two week block.

Is 14 easier to arrange than 12?

Often, yes. Fifteen days is a clean fortnight, which is how employers think about leave. Twelve or thirteen leaves an awkward stub.

Where does it fit in the school year?

The English summer holidays, the two week Scottish October break, Easter in most authorities, and the Christmas period.

When is the cheapest time to go for 14 nights?

January and November.

When is the best time?

October or November, on weather and crowds combined. Over a fortnight the heat matters more than on a shorter trip.

Can I go for longer than 14 nights?

Yes. Ask us about extended stays, particularly if you are retired. The visa allows up to 90 days.

How far ahead should I book?

Three to four months normally, six or more for Ramadan, December and the summer holidays.

One long trip or two short ones

Should I do two 7 night trips instead?

Usually not. Two sevens costs around £998 for the same fourteen nights on the ground, against £625 for one fourteen.

Why is it so much more?

You pay two sets of flights, two visas, and four travel days instead of two.

When does two trips make sense?

If you want to go in Ramadan and also at another time of year, since those are genuinely different experiences. Or if your leave only comes in one week blocks.

Can I get a multiple-entry visa?

There is a multiple-entry Umrah visa valid 365 days with a cumulative 90 day cap. Details on the visa page.

Multiple Umrahs

Can I perform Umrah more than once?

Yes, and a fortnight gives you the room. Return to the nearest Miqat, re-enter Ihram, and come back.

Where do I go to re-enter Ihram?

Most people use Masjid Aisha at Taneem, a few kilometres from the Haram.

How long does it take?

A few hours end to end rather than a whole day. Taxis run constantly and it is inexpensive.

How many times can I do it?

There is no fixed number. One extra performed unhurriedly is worth more than three squeezed in.

Do I need more Ihram garments?

Two sets is sensible on a fortnight anyway, and essential if you plan a second Umrah.

Is the trip to Taneem included?

No, it is a local taxi and not part of the package. It is not expensive.

The split and the routing

Can I change the eight and six split?

Yes. Nine and five if Makkah is the priority, or seven and seven for an even fortnight.

What would you not recommend?

Fewer than four nights in Madinah on a fourteen night trip. You have the time, so use it.

Should I go to Makkah or Madinah first?

Madinah first is calmer for a first trip, because you sleep before entering Ihram at Dhul Hulayfah on the ground.

What is an open jaw itinerary?

Flying into one city and out of the other, which removes a long backtrack at the end. Worth asking about on a fortnight especially, when you will be tired.

How long is the coach between cities?

About four and a half hours, air conditioned, included in your package.

What is included

What is in the price?

Return flights on one ticket, both hotels, the Saudi visa and all three transfers, plus a named agent on WhatsApp.

Is the visa included?

Yes, submitted through Nusuk and tracked to approval.

Are all transfers included?

All three. Airport to hotel, Makkah to Madinah, and hotel to airport.

Is breakfast included?

It varies by property, so we confirm it per hotel in your quote.

What is not included?

Travel insurance, your ACWY vaccine, meals beyond breakfast where it applies, UK parking or train fares, and anything you buy out there including a trip to Taneem.

Do you arrange Ziyarat?

Yes, in both cities, and on a fortnight you can do it properly rather than as a half-day blitz.

Do I get a named contact?

Yes, one agent from your first message to your return flight.

Practical

What should I pack for two weeks?

Less than you think. Laundry is easy and cheap in both cities, so most people over-pack their first long trip.

Can I do laundry there?

Yes, easily and cheaply, in both cities.

What shoes should I bring?

Ones you have already broken in. Fourteen nights is not the time to discover a new pair rubs.

Do I need permits as well as a visa?

Yes. A Nusuk permit gets you into the Haram to perform Umrah, and a separate one covers the Rawdah.

Does a longer trip help with Rawdah permits?

Considerably. Six nights in Madinah means far more chances at a slot, and cancellations release throughout.

How long is the visa valid?

The single-entry Umrah visa gives 30 days from issue to enter, then up to 90 days stay, so a fortnight sits well inside it.

Do I need the vaccine?

Yes, meningococcal ACWY, dated at least ten days before you arrive. It is a visa requirement.

Can I bring Zamzam home?

Yes, in checked baggage, and only the official factory-sealed 5 litre bottle bought at the Saudi airport counters.

Can women travel without a Mahram?

Under current Saudi rules, women aged 18 and over may perform Umrah as part of an organised group without a Mahram. Confirm for your travel date.

Money and booking

How much is the deposit?

£99 per person.

When is the balance due?

Eight weeks before departure.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes, interest free, when you book four or more months ahead. On a fortnight for a family this is usually the sensible route.

Do children cost less?

Yes. Under twos travel as lap infants for a nominal fare, two to elevens get a reduced rate sharing with two adults, twelve and over pay adult.

Do you price match?

We price under. Send a written quote through Beat My Quote.

Which airport should I fly from?

Whichever is closest, unless another prices meaningfully better. Direct services run from Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham.

Does a connection matter on a fortnight?

Less than on any shorter trip, because the travel overhead spreads across fourteen nights.

Do you do group bookings?

Yes, from five people up to fifty plus. Fourteen nights suits mosque groups and extended families well.

Can I add a holiday afterwards?

Yes, though after a fortnight most people want to go home. Turkey, Dubai, Egypt and Pakistan combinations are on the special packages page.

Where can I read more?

Our blog covers Ziyarat and the practical side, and the packages hub has every tier, month, city and airport.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is Umrah and who can perform it?

Umrah is a voluntary Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year. It is open to all Muslims worldwide, regardless of age or gender, provided women under 45 are accompanied by a Mahram.

Hajj is the compulsory annual pilgrimage performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage that can be performed throughout the year and is often referred to as the “lesser pilgrimage.”

The actual rituals of Umrah — Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Halq or Taqsir — can be completed in a few hours. However, most pilgrims spend 7 to 14 days in Saudi Arabia to maximise their time in worship at the Haram.

Umrah can be performed throughout the year. However, Ramadan is considered the most spiritually rewarding time, as performing Umrah during this month holds the reward equivalent to Hajj. January to March also offer cooler temperatures and a peaceful atmosphere.

Our Umrah packages typically include return flights from the UK, hotel accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, Umrah visa processing, and 24/7 customer support. Full details are listed on each individual package page.
