More Than Just Umrah Packages
Quick Answer: A 7 nights 3 star Umrah package from the UK costs from £629 per person, all-inclusive — covering return flights, Umrah visa, 3 star hotel in Makkah (4 nights) and Madinah (3 nights), inter-city transport, airport transfers, and a guided Ziyarat tour. ATOL protected. Departures from Manchester, Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, Edinburgh & Glasgow.
Seven nights is the most popular Umrah duration among British pilgrims — and for good reason. It gives you enough time to complete all Umrah rituals, attend multiple Fajr to Isha prayers inside Masjid al-Haram, visit the historically significant Ziyarat sites in both Makkah and Madinah, and still return home without using excessive annual leave. A 7 nights 3 star Umrah package is the most accessible entry point for UK Muslims making their first trip to the holy cities.
At Packages Umrah, our 7 nights 3 star Umrah package starts from £629 per person — making it the most competitively priced all-inclusive deal in the UK market. Every detail is handled for you: flights from your nearest airport, Umrah e-visa, 3 star hotel accommodation within walking distance or a short shuttle of Masjid al-Haram, ground transport throughout Saudi Arabia, and a guided Ziyarat tour in both cities. There are no hidden costs, no surcharges, and no nasty surprises after you have paid.
ATOL protected · IATA registered · Visa included · 24/7 in-trip support · Urdu & English consultants · Flexible instalment plans
All prices below are per person, based on twin-sharing from UK airports. The package includes everything listed in the inclusions table. Prices vary by season; the lowest rates apply during off-peak Islamic months.
Season / Departure | Duration | Price pp (from) |
|---|---|---|
Off-Peak (Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep) | 7 Nights | £629 pp |
Standard (Jan, Feb pre-Ramadan, Mar, Oct, Nov) | 7 Nights | £649 pp |
Winter / School Holidays (Dec, Apr Easter) | 7 Nights | £699 pp |
Ramadan 2026 (approx. Feb 18 – Mar 19) | 7 Nights | £779 pp |
All prices are per person based on twin-sharing. Single supplement: +£120pp. Triple room (3 adults): –£30pp. Child 2–11 years: from £329pp. Under 2s fly free. Prices subject to flight availability on your exact departure date.
The standard 7-night itinerary is structured as 4 nights in Makkah followed by 3 nights in Madinah (Makkah-first routing). An alternative Madinah-first option is available on request — choose this if you want to visit the Prophet’s ﷺ Mosque before entering Ihram for Umrah. Both routings are available depending on your flight schedule.
Your flight lands at King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah. For UK pilgrims using the Makkah-first routing, you enter Ihram on board the aircraft before reaching the Miqat of Yalamlam. An announcement is made on the plane; our pre-departure briefing pack explains exactly what to do. On arrival, our ground representative meets you at the airport for a direct air-conditioned coach transfer to your 3 star hotel in Makkah. After checking in and settling in, most pilgrims proceed to Masjid al-Haram for a first glimpse of the Ka’bah — one of the most profound moments in a Muslim’s life.
This is the central day of your pilgrimage. You perform the four core rituals of Umrah: Tawaf (seven circuits around the Ka’bah, beginning and ending at the Black Stone), two rak’ahs of prayer behind Maqam Ibrahim, Sa’i (seven walks between Safa and Marwa), and Halq or Taqsir (shaving or trimming hair to exit Ihram). Our pre-departure pack covers every step with the relevant duas in Arabic and English transliteration. The Umrah rituals themselves take between 2 and 5 hours depending on crowd levels. After completing Umrah, the Ihram state ends and you are free to wear normal clothing.
With Umrah completed, Day 3 is devoted to extended worship inside Masjid al-Haram — additional Tawaf (nafl), Salah at all five prayer times, personal duas, Quran recitation, and quiet reflection. In the afternoon, our guided Makkah Ziyarat tour visits Jabal al-Nour (the Cave of Hira, where the first Quranic revelation descended), Jabal Thawr (the Cave of Thawr, where the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr RA sought refuge during the Hijrah), the plain of Arafat, Mina, and Muzdalifah.
Your final morning in Makkah. Many pilgrims perform Tawaf al-Wada (Farewell Tawaf) before departure — though this is technically obligatory only for Hajj, many perform it voluntarily. After check-out, your air-conditioned coach departs for Madinah — a journey of approximately 4 to 5 hours through the Hejaz mountains. On arrival in Madinah, you check in to your 3 star hotel near Masjid an-Nabawi.
Madinah is the city of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and arriving here carries its own profound emotion. After check-in, proceed to Masjid an-Nabawi for your first prayer in this blessed mosque. The Prophet ﷺ said that a single prayer at Masjid an-Nabawi equals 1,000 prayers elsewhere. Many pilgrims spend hours inside, reciting Quran and making du’a, particularly near the Rawdah al-Sharif (the garden between the Prophet’s ﷺ tomb and his pulpit), which is described as one of the gardens of Paradise.
The guided Madinah Ziyarat tour includes: Masjid Quba (the first mosque built in Islam — two rak’ahs here equal the reward of Umrah according to a hadith), Mount Uhud and the graves of the Uhud martyrs including Hamza RA (uncle of the Prophet ﷺ), Masjid al-Qiblatain (the mosque of two qiblas, where the direction of prayer changed from Jerusalem to Makkah), Jannat al-Baqi cemetery (the resting place of many Companions and family of the Prophet ﷺ), and the Seven Mosques area (Masjid al-Fath, Masjid Salman al-Farisi).
Access to the Rawdah requires a permit booked through the Nusuk app. We provide step-by-step guidance on applying during your pre-departure briefing. Permits open approximately 5 days before your visit and are in high demand, particularly during peak season.
Your last morning in Madinah. After Fajr, make the most of your final hours in the Prophet’s ﷺ mosque — recite your duas, offer salah, and say your farewell to Madinah. Check-out is followed by an airport transfer to Madinah Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz Airport (MED) or back to Jeddah (JED) for your return flight to the UK. Most pilgrims return home with a sense of profound gratitude, spiritual renewal, and — in many cases — an immediate desire to return.
Pilgrims flying to Madinah first and then travelling to Makkah must enter Ihram at Dhul Hulayfah (also called Abyar Ali or Masjid al-Miqat), which is approximately 9km from Madinah city. We provide transport to this Miqat as part of your package.
Every 3 star hotel in our package is personally verified by our operations team. “3 star” in Makkah and Madinah still means fully air-conditioned rooms, en-suite bathrooms, reliable Wi-Fi, and an on-site restaurant. The key difference from 4 or 5 star is proximity to the Haram — a 3 star hotel may require a 10–15 minute walk or a short free shuttle rather than a 5-minute stroll.

Return economy flights are included in every 7 nights 3 star Umrah package from Packages Umrah. We book from all major UK airports and route you via the most convenient option based on your departure city and travel dates.
Yes. When you enquire, tell us your preferred carrier and we will confirm whether that airline is available on your dates at the package price. Airline preferences are usually accommodatable when booked 6 or more weeks in advance.
This package suits the widest range of British Muslim pilgrims. Here is a breakdown of who benefits most:
Seven nights is the ideal duration for a first Umrah from the UK. You have enough time to complete the rituals without rushing, join both Ziyarat tours, attend prayers at all five times in both mosques, and return home feeling that the journey was complete. Our pre-departure briefing pack is designed specifically for first-timers — covering every step of the rituals with the relevant duas in Arabic, transliteration, and English translation.
At £629 per person (off-peak), this is the most affordable all-inclusive Umrah package from the UK that includes flights, visa, both hotels, and transfers. Compared to arranging flights, hotel, and visa independently — which would typically cost £700 to £900 for the same standard — our package consistently saves money. Three-star hotels in Makkah and Madinah are clean, functional, and well-maintained. You will not be staying in a shack.
Seven nights fits within a one-week annual leave block, making it the most practical Umrah option for working parents. With school holidays at a premium (December, Easter, August), the 7-night package also limits accommodation costs compared to a 10 or 14-night stay. Children under 2 travel free; children 2–11 travel at a reduced rate.
Solo travellers can join our group departures and benefit from group pricing rather than paying solo premiums. We also offer twin-share room matching with same-gender solo travellers where requested. Alternatively, a single-supplement room upgrade is available at +£120pp.
Groups of 10 or more qualify for discounted per-person rates. We coordinate shared flight bookings, a dedicated group leader on-trip, and can provide a pre-departure briefing at your mosque. Many UK mosque communities book annual 7-night Umrah trips through Packages Umrah.
Seven nights is physically manageable for most elderly pilgrims. We arrange wheelchair assistance at UK airports, within Masjid al-Haram (motorised wheelchairs are available at the Haram at no charge), and at our hotels. Please inform us of any mobility requirements at time of booking.
Understanding the Umrah rituals before you travel makes the experience far more meaningful and reduces anxiety, especially for first-timers. Here is a complete, plain-English guide to performing Umrah, from entering Ihram to completing Halq.
Ihram is the sacred state that a pilgrim must enter before performing Umrah. For UK pilgrims flying to Jeddah, the Miqat (boundary point) is Yalamlam. An announcement is made on most Umrah flights before the plane reaches the Miqat. You should be prepared and already wearing your Ihram garments when the announcement is made. Men wear two seamless white cloths (Izar covering the lower body, Rida covering the upper). Women wear their normal modest clothing — a plain abaya covering the full body; the face and hands remain uncovered. Before entering Ihram, perform ghusl (full ritual bath) if possible — this is Sunnah. Apply no perfume after ghusl.
Intention for Umrah (Arabic): “Allahumma inni ureedu al-‘umrata fa-yassirhaa li wa taqabbalha minni.” Translation: “O Allah, I intend to perform Umrah — make it easy for me and accept it from me.”
Talbiyah: “Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, labbayk la shareeka laka labbayk. Innal-hamda wan-ni’mata laka wal-mulk, la shareeka lak.” — Recite this continuously from entering Ihram until you begin Tawaf.
On entering Masjid al-Haram, proceed to the Ka’bah and begin Tawaf from the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad). The Ka’bah should be on your left throughout. Complete seven circuits in an anti-clockwise direction, reciting duas and salawat. Upon completing the seventh circuit at the Black Stone, proceed to Maqam Ibrahim (the stone where Ibrahim ﷺ stood to build the Ka’bah) and offer two rak’ahs of voluntary prayer behind it, reciting Surah al-Kafirun and Surah al-Ikhlas. Then drink Zamzam water.
After praying at Maqam Ibrahim and drinking Zamzam, proceed to the hill of Safa. Recite: “Innas-Safa wal-Marwata min sha’aa’irillah” (Surah al-Baqarah 2:158). Face the Ka’bah and make du’a. Then walk to Marwa — this counts as one length. Walk from Safa to Marwa and back to Safa (two lengths). Complete seven lengths in total, ending at Marwa. Men jog (not full sprint) between the two green lights on each length between Safa and Marwa. The covered Sa’i walkway is fully air-conditioned.
Each length is approximately 450 metres. Seven lengths total approximately 3.15km. At a comfortable walking pace, Sa’i takes 45 to 90 minutes depending on crowd levels.
After completing Sa’i, men shave their heads (Halq — preferred and more rewarding) or trim at least one inch all around (Taqsir). Women cut a finger’s width from the ends of their hair (scissors are available within the Haram complex). After Halq or Taqsir, Ihram ends. You have successfully completed Umrah. You may now wear normal clothing, use perfume, and resume all normal activities.
Yes. After completing your first Umrah and exiting Ihram, you can perform additional nafl (voluntary) Umrahs by travelling to the boundary of the Haram area, re-entering Ihram, and returning to perform the rituals again. Many pilgrims perform additional Umrahs on behalf of deceased family members or as acts of voluntary worship. The nearest point to re-enter Ihram from within Makkah is Masjid al-Tan’im, approximately 7km from the Haram.
Both our Makkah and Madinah Ziyarat tours are led by an experienced, English and Urdu-speaking guide. These tours run once during your stay in each city. Private Ziyarat tours by vehicle can be arranged as an add-on for families or groups requiring a more personalised pace.
Umrah can be performed at any time of year outside the five days of Hajj (8th–12th Dhul Hijjah). Each season carries different advantages for UK pilgrims taking a 7-night trip.
These months offer the lowest prices for 7-night Umrah packages from the UK — starting from £629pp. Trade-off: Saudi Arabia is extremely hot in summer (40–46°C outside), but Masjid al-Haram and all our hotels are fully air-conditioned. The Haram is quieter than peak season, which means shorter queues for Tawaf and Sa’i. A good option if heat is not a deterrent.
The lowest fares and hotel rates of the year typically fall in July and August, with some 7-night packages available from £629pp. Book early as school-holiday demand from families slightly competes with the budget pricing.
Temperatures in Makkah and Madinah drop to 15–22°C in winter, making walking between hotels, the Haram, and Ziyarat sites very comfortable. This is particularly recommended for elderly pilgrims, those with health conditions, and families with young children. Prices are slightly higher than summer but still competitive — our 7-night package runs from £649pp in these months.
Ramadan 2026 begins approximately 18 February 2026. The Prophet ﷺ said that performing Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent in reward to performing Hajj with him. The atmosphere inside Masjid al-Haram during Ramadan — especially the last 10 nights and Laylat al-Qadr — is unparalleled. Our 7-night Ramadan packages start from £779pp. Book at least 4–6 months in advance; availability disappears quickly.
December is one of the most popular months for British Muslim families, coinciding with the Christmas school break. Weather is excellent (16–22°C). Seven-night packages during December start from £699pp. Book by September to secure preferred hotels and flight times.
Easter school holidays (typically late March / April) offer a practical window for families and working parents. In 2026, Easter coincides with post-Ramadan dates. Prices run from £699pp. The Haram is busier in the first two weeks after Ramadan as many pilgrims extend their stay.

There are hundreds of Umrah agencies in the UK. Here is why Packages Umrah consistently offers better value and more reliable service than most:
Our 7 nights 3 star Umrah packages are priced at least £20 below the UK market average. We achieve this through direct relationships with Saudi-approved hotels and airline consolidators — savings we pass directly to pilgrims rather than inflating margins. If you find a like-for-like all-inclusive package cheaper, call us and we will match or beat it.
Every flight-inclusive package we sell is ATOL protected from day one. You receive your ATOL certificate upon booking — before you pay a penny beyond your deposit. If Packages Umrah ceased trading (an unlikely event given our stable operating history), the ATOL scheme guarantees a full refund or alternative travel arrangements at no extra cost to you.
Our dedicated visa team handles every Umrah visa application through the Nusuk (Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah) platform. We have a 97%+ first-submission approval rate. We check your documents before submission, track the application daily, and notify you immediately upon approval.
When you call Packages Umrah, you speak to a consultant who has personally performed Umrah and understands the journey from the inside. We speak English, Urdu, and Punjabi. Our Manchester office is open 7 days a week and our WhatsApp line is monitored from early morning to late evening.
Every quote we send lists costs line by line: flights, visa, Makkah hotel, Madinah hotel, inter-city transfer, and airport transfers. Nothing is buried in a vague total. You see exactly what you are paying for before you commit to anything.

Comprehensive, direct answers to every question UK pilgrims ask about this package
A 7 nights 3 star Umrah package is an all-inclusive travel arrangement covering 7 nights in Saudi Arabia — typically 4 nights in Makkah and 3 nights in Madinah — with 3 star hotel accommodation in both cities, return flights from the UK, Umrah visa processing, inter-city transport, airport transfers, and a guided Ziyarat tour in both holy cities.
Included: return economy flights, Umrah e-visa processing, 3 star hotel in Makkah (4 nights), 3 star hotel in Madinah (3 nights), Makkah-Madinah coach transfer, airport pick-up and drop-off in Saudi Arabia, guided Ziyarat tours in both cities, pre-departure briefing pack, and 24/7 in-trip support. Not included: meals (3 star is room-only), travel insurance, and personal spending.
Our 7 nights 3 star Umrah package costs from £629 per person (off-peak), £649pp (standard), £699pp (December/Easter), and £779pp (Ramadan). All prices include flights, visa, hotels, transfers, and Ziyarat. Prices are based on twin-sharing from UK airports.
Yes, 7 nights is sufficient to perform all Umrah rituals (Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, Halq), attend prayers at both holy mosques across multiple prayer times, visit the key Ziyarat sites in Makkah and Madinah, and spend meaningful personal time in worship. Most UK pilgrims performing their first Umrah choose a 7 or 10-night package. If you have more time available, a 10 or 12-night package allows a more relaxed experience.
The standard split is 4 nights in Makkah and 3 nights in Madinah (or vice versa, depending on your flight routing). The Makkah-first option allows you to perform Umrah on Day 2 and maximise time at Masjid al-Haram. The Madinah-first option works better for pilgrims flying to Madinah Airport (MED) on arrival.
3 star hotels in Makkah and Madinah are clean, comfortable, fully air-conditioned properties with private en-suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and on-site restaurant facilities. They are typically located 600 to 1,200 metres from Masjid al-Haram or Masjid an-Nabawi — a 10 to 15 minute walk or a short complimentary shuttle. The Saudi hotel classification system may differ slightly from UK standards; our 3 star hotels are consistently well-reviewed by UK pilgrims.
3 star hotels in our package are typically 500 to 1,200 metres from the Grand Mosque. Most hotels offer a complimentary shuttle bus to the Haram entrance. For pilgrims who want to be within a 5-minute walk, we recommend upgrading to a 4 or 5 star package where Haram-proximity hotels are guaranteed.
Yes, upgrades are available subject to hotel availability. Contact us as early as possible — ideally at least 6 weeks before departure. We will confirm availability and the price difference. Most upgrades are straightforward when requested well in advance.
Yes, though we recommend checking mobility requirements with us. Most 3 star hotels have lifts and are manageable for elderly pilgrims. For elderly travellers or those with reduced mobility, we can select hotels with the shortest walking distance to the Haram within the 3 star tier, or recommend upgrading to a 4 or 5 star package where hotels are closer and facilities are superior.
The cheapest 7 night 3 star Umrah package from the UK starts at £629 per person with Packages Umrah — available for off-peak travel (June to September). This all-inclusive price covers flights from Manchester or Birmingham, visa, 3 star hotels in both cities, and all transfers. For the absolute lowest prices, travel in July or August and book at least 8 weeks in advance.
Not with us. Our quoted price covers flights, visa, hotel, inter-city transport, and airport transfers. We explicitly list what is not included (meals, travel insurance, personal spending, Rawdah permits) so you can budget accurately. We never add fuel surcharges, credit card fees, or administrative costs after booking.
Yes. Secure your booking with a deposit (typically £100–£150 per person) and spread the remaining balance in monthly instalments with no interest or additional fees. Full payment must be completed at least 4 weeks before departure for visa processing purposes.
A deposit of approximately £100 to £150 per person is required to secure your booking and flight seats. The exact deposit amount is confirmed when we issue your quote.
For off-peak travel (June–September, January, November), booking 6 to 8 weeks in advance is usually sufficient. For peak periods (Ramadan, December, Easter), book 4 to 6 months in advance. The earliest you book, the more choice you have over hotel options and flight times.
Yes. Groups of 10 or more people receive discounted per-person rates. We arrange shared flights, a dedicated group leader for the trip, and can conduct a pre-departure session at your mosque. Contact us for a bespoke group quote.
Sometimes, yes — particularly during off-peak months. Last-minute availability depends on flight and hotel vacancy. If you need to travel within 3 to 4 weeks, contact us directly and we will check what is available. Visa processing (6–10 working days) is the main constraint on very short notice bookings.
Yes. All our 7-night Umrah packages include return economy flights from Manchester Airport (MAN). Direct flights with Saudia are available during Umrah season. Connecting options via Emirates, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, and Oman Air are also available, typically with layovers in Dubai, Doha, Istanbul, or Muscat.
Yes. We offer departures from London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW). Heathrow has the best direct flight options (Saudia, British Airways). Gatwick has more connecting options via Gulf carriers and Turkish Airlines.
Yes. We offer 7-night Umrah packages departing from Birmingham Airport (BHX) with connecting flights via Emirates (Dubai), Qatar Airways (Doha), Turkish Airlines (Istanbul), or Etihad (Abu Dhabi). Birmingham is a popular departure airport for Midlands-based pilgrims.
Direct flights from London Heathrow and Manchester to Jeddah take approximately 6.5 hours. Connecting flights (with one stop in Dubai, Doha, Istanbul, or similar) take 9 to 12 hours total travel time depending on layover duration. We recommend direct flights where available, especially for elderly pilgrims and families with children.
Saudia operates direct flights from Manchester and London Heathrow to Jeddah (JED) during Umrah season. British Airways operates direct from Heathrow to Jeddah. All other airlines (Emirates, Qatar, Turkish, Etihad, Oman Air) are one-stop connections via their respective hub airports.
Yes. When enquiring, tell us your preferred airline, class preference, and whether you want to fly to Jeddah or Madinah first. We will confirm availability. Specific flight time requests are accommodated when booking 6 or more weeks in advance.
Yes. Umrah visa processing is fully included in all our 7-night 3 star packages. Our visa team handles document collection, preparation, and submission through the Saudi Ministry-approved Nusuk platform. You do not need to visit any consulate or embassy.
You need: a valid UK passport (at least 6 months validity beyond your return date), two recent passport-size photographs on a white background, confirmed flight and hotel booking details, and a meningococcal ACWY vaccination certificate. We provide a full document checklist when you book.
Umrah visa processing takes 6 to 10 working days from the date all documents are correctly submitted. Our team tracks each application daily and notifies you immediately upon approval. Urgent processing is available in some cases — contact us for details.
Saudi Arabia requires proof of the meningococcal (ACWY) vaccine, administered within the last 3 years. This is widely available at GP surgeries and travel clinics across the UK. Some pilgrims also get flu and polio vaccines as additional precautions. We send a full health requirements checklist with every booking.
Travel insurance is not automatically included but is strongly recommended. It should cover medical emergencies in Saudi Arabia (medical costs can be very high without insurance), trip cancellation, flight disruption, and baggage loss. We offer competitively priced halal-compatible travel insurance as an add-on. Saudi Arabia requires evidence of health coverage for Umrah visa applicants.
Yes. Saudi Arabia now permits women of any age to perform Umrah without a Mahram (male guardian), provided they travel with a licensed travel group. We offer women-only group departures with a female group leader. Solo female bookings are fully accommodated on our standard group packages.
The Umrah rituals — entering Ihram, Tawaf (7 circuits of the Ka’bah), two rak’ahs at Maqam Ibrahim, Sa’i (7 lengths between Safa and Marwa), and Halq or Taqsir — typically take 2 to 5 hours. The variation depends on crowd levels inside the Haram. During busy periods (Ramadan, Fridays), it can take longer. Early morning or late night are generally the quietest times for Tawaf.
Yes. After completing your first Umrah and exiting Ihram, you can perform additional voluntary Umrahs. Re-enter Ihram from the nearest Miqat point outside the Haram boundary — the closest for those in Makkah is Masjid al-Tan’im (Masjid Aisha), approximately 7km from the Grand Mosque. Taxis are readily available. There is no limit on the number of Umrahs you can perform.
Ihram is the sacred state entered before performing Umrah. Men wear two seamless white cloths; women wear their normal modest clothing with face and hands uncovered. While in Ihram, the following are prohibited: cutting hair or nails, using perfume, marital relations, hunting, and (for men) covering the head. These restrictions end once Halq or Taqsir is performed.
UK pilgrims flying directly to Jeddah pass over the Miqat of Yalamlam while in the air. Airlines typically make an announcement approximately 30 to 40 minutes before landing. You must be in Ihram before the aircraft reaches this point. Our pre-departure briefing covers exactly what to do.
There is no specific mandatory dua for each circuit of Tawaf. The Prophet ﷺ recited: “Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina adhab an-nar” between the Yemeni Corner (Rukn al-Yamani) and the Black Stone on each circuit. Any sincere du’a in any language is acceptable throughout Tawaf. Our pre-departure briefing pack includes recommended duas and dhikr for every stage of Umrah.
Ziyarat means visiting historically and spiritually significant Islamic sites in and around the holy cities. Our 7-night packages include a guided group Ziyarat tour in both Makkah and Madinah — covering sites including Jabal al-Nour, Jabal Thawr, Arafat, Masjid Quba, Mount Uhud, and Jannat al-Baqi cemetery. The tours are conducted by experienced, English and Urdu-speaking guides.
Men: Two sets of Ihram cloth, a money belt, comfortable walking sandals (not shoes, which cannot be worn in Ihram), sunscreen (SPF 50), a lightweight daypack, unscented soap and shampoo, modest everyday clothing, prayer mat.
Women: Multiple abayas and modest clothing, comfortable walking shoes, unscented toiletries (perfume is prohibited in Ihram), prayer mat, hijabs, any required medication.
Both: A Umrah dua booklet (we provide one), prescription medications with a doctor’s letter, rehydration salts and paracetamol, a portable phone charger, an adaptable plug (Saudi Arabia uses Type G — same as UK).
The currency is the Saudi Riyal (SAR). As of mid-2026, the exchange rate is approximately £1 = 4.7 SAR. We recommend taking some cash in SAR for meals, transport, and personal spending. ATMs are widely available throughout Makkah and Madinah. Major credit and debit cards are accepted at most hotels and larger restaurants.
The areas surrounding Masjid al-Haram in Makkah are lined with halal restaurants and food courts catering specifically to international pilgrims. Options range from South Asian (Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi cuisine) to Arab, Turkish, and fast-food chains. A meal costs approximately 15 to 40 SAR (£3 to £9). Our 3 star hotels also have on-site restaurants.
Makkah and Madinah have a desert climate. Summer (June–August): 38–46°C during the day, 28–35°C at night. Winter (November–February): 16–24°C daytime, 10–15°C at night. Both mosques are fully air-conditioned regardless of outdoor temperature. Comfortable walking shoes and sun protection are essential in summer; a light jacket is useful for winter evenings.
The Rawdah al-Sharif (the garden between the Prophet’s tomb and his pulpit, described as a garden of Paradise) requires a permit to visit. Permits are issued via the Nusuk app, typically 5 days before your desired visit date. They are free but in high demand. We provide step-by-step Nusuk app guidance in our pre-departure briefing pack.
Saudi Arabia is 3 hours ahead of the UK (GMT+3 all year — Saudi Arabia does not observe daylight saving time). During UK BST (summer, late March to late October), the difference is 2 hours. This is worth factoring into prayer time calculations when first arriving.
The best 7-night 3 star Umrah package from the UK combines price, ATOL protection, hotel quality, and included services. Packages Umrah offers this package from £629pp (off-peak) with flights, visa, 3 star hotels in both cities, Ziyarat tours, and 24/7 support. This is consistently below the UK market average and includes all essential services with no hidden costs.
To find the cheapest 7-night Umrah package from the UK: (1) Travel during off-peak Islamic months (June–September, Muharram, Safar). (2) Book at least 6–8 weeks in advance for standard months, longer for peak periods. (3) Choose 3 star over 4 or 5 star accommodation. (4) Compare agencies — ensure the price is truly all-inclusive with flights, visa, and transfers. (5) Consider departing from a major hub like Manchester or Birmingham for the best flight pricing.
A 7-night 3 star Umrah package from Packages Umrah includes: return flights from a UK airport, Umrah e-visa processing, 3 star hotel in Makkah (4 nights), 3 star hotel in Madinah (3 nights), inter-city coach transfer, airport transfers in Saudi Arabia, guided Ziyarat tours in both cities, a pre-departure briefing pack, and 24/7 support throughout the trip. Meals are not included in the 3 star tier.
Yes. Families with children are well-suited to a 7-night package. We can arrange interconnecting or family rooms in 3 star hotels. Children under 2 fly free and stay free when sharing a room. Children aged 2–11 travel at a reduced rate. For families with toddlers or elderly members, we recommend choosing a hotel with a complimentary shuttle rather than requiring a 15-minute walk to the Haram.
A 7-night package is ideal for pilgrims with limited annual leave or a tighter budget. It provides sufficient time to complete Umrah, visit both holy mosques, and attend Ziyarat. A 10-night package provides an extra 3 nights — typically 2 additional nights in Makkah and 1 in Madinah — giving more time for voluntary Tawaf, extended personal du’a, and a more relaxed pace. The cost difference is approximately £70 to £100 per person.
A 3 star Umrah hotel in Makkah is a clean, functional property with air-conditioned rooms, en-suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and an on-site restaurant. Rooms are compact but comfortable. The main trade-off compared to 4 or 5 star is hotel distance from Masjid al-Haram — a 10 to 15-minute walk or short shuttle bus rather than a 5-minute stroll. Properties such as Al Kiswah Towers, Al Ebaa Hotel, and Azka Al Safa consistently receive positive reviews from UK pilgrims.
Yes. We offer 7-night Ramadan Umrah packages from the UK starting from £779pp for Ramadan 2026 (expected to begin 18 February 2026). No. The Umrah visa itself (the Saudi government fee) has typically been around £30–£80 in recent years. Our 7-night packages include all visa processing costs — the government fee, processing costs, and our administrative work — within the all-inclusive package price. There is no separate visa charge.
The minimum realistic all-inclusive budget for a 7-night Umrah from the UK (including flights, visa, 3 star hotels, and transfers) is approximately £629pp when booked early and travelling off-peak. Add £150–£300pp for meals, personal spending, and travel insurance. Total budget: around £800–£950 per person for a complete 7-night Umrah trip from the UK.
You can book by messaging us on WhatsApp, calling +44 7737 144 335, or emailing info@packagesumrah.co.uk. There is no religious requirement to visit a specific mosque before performing Umrah, though many pilgrims make a spiritual intention (Niyyah) in their local mosque and seek blessings from family and the community before departing. Our pre-departure briefing covers the spiritual and practical preparation for Umrah in detail.
Yes, it is excellent value when booked correctly. At £629pp all-inclusive from Packages Umrah — including flights, visa, hotels in both cities, transfers, and Ziyarat — you are paying £90 per person per night for a complete pilgrimage. Compared to a city-break in Europe with no spiritual dimension, a 7-night Umrah delivers extraordinary value for what it represents.
Our 24/7 support covers both UK-based assistance and a Saudi ground representative in Makkah and Madinah throughout your trip. If you lose a document, have a health emergency, need a flight change, or face any other issue — call our emergency line and a real person answers. All bookings are ATOL protected, so financial security is guaranteed from the moment you pay your deposit.
Yes. You can adjust your departure airport, preferred airline, Makkah-Madinah split (4+3 or 3+4 nights), Makkah-first or Madinah-first routing, room type (single, twin, triple, family), and add meal plans or private Ziyarat. Contact us with your requirements and we will build a custom quote.
If your outbound or return flight is cancelled, our team immediately works to rebook you on the earliest available alternative flight at no additional cost. All bookings are ATOL protected, so in the worst case you would receive a full refund. We also recommend travel insurance to cover additional expenses (accommodation, meals) incurred due to flight disruption.
Your Umrah journey begins with a single decision: to go. Everything else we handle. Whether you are performing your first Umrah or returning to renew your faith, our 7 nights 3 star Umrah package gives you everything you need — flights, visa, hotels, transport, Ziyarat, and round-the-clock support — at a price that is consistently below every major UK competitor.

Umrah is a voluntary Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year. It is open to all Muslims worldwide, regardless of age or gender, provided women under 45 are accompanied by a Mahram.
Hajj is the compulsory annual pilgrimage performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage that can be performed throughout the year and is often referred to as the “lesser pilgrimage.”
The actual rituals of Umrah — Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Halq or Taqsir — can be completed in a few hours. However, most pilgrims spend 7 to 14 days in Saudi Arabia to maximise their time in worship at the Haram.
Umrah can be performed throughout the year. However, Ramadan is considered the most spiritually rewarding time, as performing Umrah during this month holds the reward equivalent to Hajj. January to March also offer cooler temperatures and a peaceful atmosphere.
Our Umrah packages typically include return flights from the UK, hotel accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, Umrah visa processing, and 24/7 customer support. Full details are listed on each individual package page.
