More Than Just Umrah Packages

Cheap Umrah Packages 2027 from the UK | From £499 per Person, and What Actually Makes a Package Cheap

Cheap Umrah packages for 2027 start at £499 per person for 7 nights, including return flights, your Saudi visa, hotels in Makkah and Madinah, and every transfer once you land.

But a price on its own tells you almost nothing, which is the problem with every cheap Umrah page on the internet.

A package is cheap for one of about eight reasons. Four of them are genuine savings you should take. The other four cost you the trip and only look like savings on a spreadsheet. Nobody explains which is which, so most people end up comparing two numbers that are not measuring the same thing.

This page fixes that, then gives you the cheapest weeks of 2027 specifically. And 2027 is an unusual year, because Ramadan lands in February.

Quick answer

7 nights from £499pp. 10 nights from £545pp. 12 nights from £579pp. 14 nights from £625pp.

The cheapest months of 2027 are January, mid-March into April, May, September and November.

February 2027 is Ramadan, so it is not the cheap month it usually is.

The biggest hidden cost in any cheap package is distance from the Haram, not the headline price.

Hold any package with a £99 deposit. Interest-free instalments available.

The four savings that are real

Take all of these. None of them damage the trip.

1. Travel in an off-peak month

The single biggest lever, and it costs you nothing except flexibility. The gap between a January departure and a December one on identical hotels and flights can be several hundred pounds a head.

If your dates are genuinely flexible, tell us the range rather than the date. We will point at the cheapest week in it, which is often not the week you first asked about.

2. Quad sharing

Four people to a room is the headline rate on every package we sell. Twin or double occupancy adds roughly £180 to £340 per person depending on tier and season.

For a family of four this is free money, because you were going to share anyway. For two adults travelling together it is a genuine decision, and worth pricing both ways before you assume.

3. Book three to four months ahead

Umrah is not a beach holiday. Fares rise as departure approaches rather than falling, because scheduled airlines price for the people who most need to travel.

Three to four months out is the sweet spot for normal dates, six or more for Ramadan and December. If you have found this page while trying to travel next week, the last minute page explains what is actually possible.

4. Stay longer

This one surprises people. A 14 night package costs less per night than a 7 night one, at every tier, on the same flights and the same hotels.

At 3 star, 14 nights works out at £45 a night against £71 a night for 7 nights. The flight cost is fixed whatever you do, so it spreads further the longer you stay. If you have the leave, the longer trip is the better value by a distance.

The four savings that are not savings

These are how most cheap Umrah packages get to be cheap. Read them before you compare any two quotes.

1. Distance from the Haram, which is the big one

This is where most of the hidden cost lives, and it never appears on the quote.

A package with a hotel 1.5 km from the Haram is meaningfully cheaper than one at 400 metres. What it means in practice is a twenty minute walk each way, five times a day, in heat that runs past 40 degrees for half the year.

What actually happens is that people stop going back. They either sit in the Haram for eight hours at a stretch, or they take taxis, or they miss prayers. On a ten night trip, taxis five times a day will eat most of what you saved, and the missed prayers cost you something you cannot get back.

So the question is never how much is the package. It is how much per metre. Always ask for the distance in writing before you compare prices. We put it in every quote in metres, along with the nearest gate.

2. Self-transfer flights

You will see very cheap itineraries that are actually two separate tickets. A low cost flight to somewhere, then a separate flight onward to Jeddah.

They are two contracts that know nothing about each other. Your bags come off, you clear the airport and check in again. If the first leg runs late and you miss the second, nobody owes you anything and you buy a new ticket at the desk on the day.

Once you have paid for checked bags on the budget leg and a hotel because the timings did not line up, the saving has usually gone anyway. Ask any quote one question: is this one ticket with bags checked through to Jeddah? A vague answer means no.

3. Things left out of the price

The commonest way to advertise a low number is to leave things out of it and add them later.

Watch for transfers not included, so you pay for the Jeddah to Makkah leg and the Makkah to Madinah coach separately. Watch for the visa fee quoted as an extra. Watch for breakfast described as available rather than included. Watch for land only sold as though it were a full package, which means no flights at all.

Everything in our price is in our price. Flights, visa, both hotels, every transfer inside Saudi Arabia. We list what is not included further down this page rather than burying it.

4. An unnamed hotel

Near Haram is not a hotel. Neither is 3 star hotel or similar.

If an agency will not name the property before you pay your balance, they are keeping the option to put you anywhere. Sometimes that is genuine because allocation is not confirmed yet, in which case they should give you a shortlist and a guaranteed maximum distance in metres. Anything vaguer than that is not a cheap package, it is an unknown one.

How to read a cheap quote: five questions

Ask these five things of any quote, including ours. It takes two minutes and it makes two prices genuinely comparable.

  1. What is the hotel called and how far is it from the Haram, in metres? Not minutes. Minutes are elastic and metres are not.
  2. Is this one ticket with bags checked through to Jeddah? If the answer wanders, it is a self-transfer.
  3. Are all transfers included, including Makkah to Madinah? That leg is around four and a half hours by road and it is not cheap to buy separately.
  4. Is the visa in the price? It should be, along with the processing.
  5. What is the room configuration? A quad rate for a family of five means two rooms, and the per person cost changes.

A quote that answers all five clearly is comparable to another quote that does the same. A quote that does not is just a number.

Send us a quote and we will check it against these

What makes 2027 different

Most years follow the same rhythm. 2027 does not, and it changes where the cheap weeks sit.

Ramadan lands in February

Ramadan 2027 begins around 8 February, subject to moon sighting, and runs into early March. The Islamic calendar moves roughly ten to eleven days earlier each year, so it has walked out of March and into February.

February is normally one of the better value months of the year. In 2027 it is not. Expect Ramadan pricing to run 40 to 70 per cent above off-peak, and higher again for the last ten nights.

February half term collides with Ramadan

For families this cuts both ways. It means you can perform Umrah in Ramadan without taking children out of school, which is unusual and genuinely valuable. It also means every other family in Britain has spotted the same thing.

If you want the half term week in Ramadan 2027, book it now rather than in the autumn. That specific week will be the hardest thing to buy in the whole year.

The post-Ramadan dip

Here is the opportunity most people miss. After Eid al-Fitr, demand falls off a cliff for several weeks. Everybody who wanted to go has just been.

In 2027 that puts mid-March through April into genuinely cheap territory, with Makkah sitting somewhere around 22 to 32 degrees, which is comfortable. If you are flexible and price is your main concern, this is the window we would point you at first.

The Hajj pause

Worth knowing before you plan anything in late spring. Umrah is normally suspended for a period around Hajj each year. Visa issuance stops some weeks beforehand and resumes afterwards.

Hajj 2027 falls in May, so that pause will sit somewhere around then. The exact dates are announced by the Saudi authorities and move year to year, so confirm with us before you commit to anything in that window. It is not a pricing problem, it is a can-you-go-at-all problem.

The lever we would not pull

Distance. Everything above costs you convenience. Moving further from the Haram costs you the trip itself, and it is the one saving people regret.

If the budget genuinely will not stretch, take a shorter stay at a closer hotel rather than a longer stay further out. Seven nights at 500 metres beats fourteen at 1.5 km, every time.

What is included, and what is not

Included in every price on this page

Return flights from your nearest UK airport. Saudi Umrah visa, submitted through Nusuk and tracked to approval. Hotels in both Makkah and Madinah, named in writing with the distance in metres. All ground transport inside Saudi Arabia, including the airport transfers and the four and a half hour coach between the two cities. A named agent on WhatsApp from your first message to your return flight.

Not included, stated plainly

Travel insurance. Your meningococcal ACWY vaccine, which is mandatory for the visa and which many GP practices charge for. Meals beyond breakfast where breakfast applies. Airport parking or train fares on the UK side. Anything you buy while you are there.

Why we list the exclusions

Because a cheap package with four hidden extras is not cheap, and you deserve to know the real number before you decide rather than after.

How long to go for

7 nights, from £499

Four nights Makkah, three Madinah. Covers Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i and Halq comfortably, plus the Rawdah and the main Madinah sites. The cheapest total, though the most expensive per night. Our 7 night 3 star package is the most booked thing we sell.

10 nights, from £545

Six nights Makkah, four Madinah, and only £46 more than the 7 night.

That £46 buys three extra nights, which is the best value decision on this whole page. Six nights in Makkah also lets you perform Tawaf at four genuinely different times of day. Fajr with the Mataf half empty and the marble cold underfoot. Mid morning. After Maghrib when it is fullest. Then past midnight when it thins out again.

12 nights, from £579

Seven Makkah, five Madinah. £48 a night. Suits retired pilgrims and families moving at the pace of the slowest person.

14 nights, from £625

Eight Makkah, six Madinah. £45 a night, the cheapest per night we sell, on the same flights and the same hotels as the 7 night trip.

The honest comparison

Going from 7 nights to 14 costs £126 more in total and doubles your time on the ground. If the leave is available, there is no version of the arithmetic where the short trip is better value.

Cheap does not mean cutting these

Four things we will not strip out to hit a number, because they are the difference between a budget trip and a bad one.

One ticket with protected connections

Never a self-transfer. If a leg runs late, the airline reroutes you and your bags are already checked through.

The hotel named in writing

With the distance in metres and the nearest gate, before you pay your balance. If allocation is not confirmed yet you get a shortlist and a guaranteed maximum distance.

Every transfer inside Saudi Arabia

Airport to hotel, Makkah to Madinah, hotel to airport. Buying that Makkah to Madinah leg separately is not cheap and it is the thing most often left out of a low headline price.

A named agent

One person, on WhatsApp, at Saudi hours. Not a shared inbox that opens at nine. This costs us money and it is the first thing a genuinely cheap operator cuts.

Cheap Umrah 2027: 94 questions answered

Grouped by topic. Direct answer first, detail underneath where it earns its place.

What it costs

How much does Umrah cost from the UK in 2027?

From £499 per person for 7 nights at 3 star, up to £825 for 14 nights at 5 star, all in.

What is the cheapest Umrah package you do?

£499 per person, 7 nights, 3 star, quad sharing, off-peak. Flights, visa, both hotels and all Saudi transport included.

Can Umrah be done for under £500?

Yes at £499 in an off-peak month on quad sharing. Below that, something has been left out of the price or the hotel is a long way from the Haram.

What is the cheapest per night?

14 nights at 3 star, which works out at £45 a night. The 7 night trip is £71 a night for the same flights and hotels.

How much for a family of four?

Less than four times the adult rate, because children two to eleven get a reduced rate sharing with two adults. Send us exact ages and we will price it properly.

How much is 10 nights?

From £545 at 3 star, £679 at 4 star, £745 at 5 star.

How much is 14 nights?

From £625 at 3 star, £769 at 4 star, £825 at 5 star.

Is the price per person or per couple?

Per person, always. Anyone quoting per couple is making the number look smaller than it is.

What is the deposit?

£99 per person. Balance due eight weeks before departure.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes, interest free, when you book four or more months ahead.

Do you have hidden fees?

No. Flights, visa, both hotels and every Saudi transfer are in the price. The exclusions are listed on this page rather than buried.

Why are you cheaper than other agencies?

Lower overheads and a fixed rule. We check comparable UK packages monthly and sit £20 under the lowest for the same nights and tier.

Making it cheaper

What is the single biggest saving?

Travelling in an off-peak month. It moves the price more than anything else and costs you nothing but flexibility.

Does staying longer really cost less?

Per night, yes, substantially. The flight cost is fixed however long you stay, so it spreads further.

What is quad sharing?

Four people to a room, usually two doubles. It is the headline rate on every package.

How much more is a twin room?

Roughly £180 to £340 per person depending on tier and season.

Should two adults take quad sharing?

It depends who you are sharing with. Price both ways and decide, rather than assuming.

How far ahead should I book to get the cheapest price?

Three to four months for normal dates. Six or more for Ramadan and December.

Are midweek flights cheaper?

Usually. If you can move a day either side, tell us, because it often opens up better fares.

Should I give you exact dates or a range?

A range. Then we can point at the cheapest week in it, which is often not the one you first asked about.

Is it cheaper to fly from a different airport?

Sometimes noticeably. Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham are usually cheapest because they have direct services and more competition.

Is a connecting flight cheaper than direct?

Often yes, and it costs you hours plus a second boarding. Fine for most people, harder with elderly parents.

Can I book land only and get my own flights?

Yes, if you already have a visa and flights. Ask for a land only quote. Just be clear that a land only price is not comparable to a full package price.

Does booking direct with a hotel save money?

Rarely, because agencies hold contracted allocation at rates you cannot get individually. And you would still need the visa and flights separately.

Spotting a fake cheap deal

What is the biggest hidden cost?

Distance from the Haram. A hotel 1.5 km out is cheaper on paper and costs you taxis, energy and missed prayers.

How far is too far?

Past 800 metres most people stop going back to the room between prayers, and that changes the whole trip. Under 500 metres is where it stays comfortable.

Why do agencies quote minutes instead of metres?

Because minutes are elastic. A five minute walk at 2am in October is fifteen minutes at Maghrib in Ramadan.

What is a self-transfer?

Two separate tickets that know nothing about each other. Bags do not check through and a delay on the first leg is entirely your problem.

How do I tell if a flight is a self-transfer?

Ask if it is one ticket with bags checked through to Jeddah. If the answer wanders, it is two tickets.

What gets left out of cheap quotes most often?

The Makkah to Madinah transfer, the visa fee, and breakfast. Also, occasionally, the flights themselves in a land only package sold as a full one.

Is an unnamed hotel a red flag?

Yes, unless they give you a shortlist and a guaranteed maximum distance in metres. Near Haram is not a hotel name.

What should I ask before comparing two prices?

Hotel name and distance in metres, whether it is one ticket, whether all transfers are included, whether the visa is in the price, and the room configuration.

Can I send you a competitor quote to check?

Yes. Send it through Beat My Quote and we will tell you whether it is genuinely comparable, then price under it if it is.

Is the cheapest package always the worst?

No. A cheap package in November on quad sharing at a decent distance is a genuinely good trip. A cheap package in December at 1.5 km is not.

2027 specifically

When is Ramadan 2027?

It begins around 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting, and runs into early March.

Why does that matter for prices?

Because February is normally a cheap month. In 2027 it is peak, since Ramadan has moved into it.

Is February half term in Ramadan in 2027?

It collides, yes. That means you can do Ramadan Umrah without taking children out of school, and so has every other family in Britain. Book it early.

What is the post-Ramadan dip?

Demand falls sharply after Eid al-Fitr because everyone who wanted to go has just been. In 2027 that puts mid-March through April into genuinely cheap territory.

Is April 2027 a good time to go?

Very. Post-Ramadan pricing, Makkah around 26 to 35 degrees, and a quiet Haram.

What is the Hajj pause?

Umrah is normally suspended for a period around Hajj each year, with visa issuance stopping some weeks before and resuming after.

When does that fall in 2027?

Hajj 2027 is in May, so the pause will sit around then. Exact dates are set by the Saudi authorities and move year to year, so check with us before planning anything in that window.

What is the cheapest month of 2027?

November, with January close behind. Both are quiet, mild and outside school holidays.

What is the most expensive?

February because of Ramadan, and December because of the Christmas break.

What is the best combination for the lowest possible price?

November, 14 nights, quad sharing, midweek departure, booked by the summer.

Is 2027 more expensive than 2026 overall?

The pattern shifts rather than the level. Ramadan moving into February changes which months are cheap, not how cheap the cheap months are.

Should I book 2027 now?

For Ramadan and December, yes. For November or the post-Ramadan window, three to four months out is fine.

Hotels and what cheap means

How far will a 3 star hotel be?

Typically 700 metres to 1.2 km from the Haram, usually with a shuttle.

How far is 4 star?

Typically 300 to 700 metres.

How far is 5 star?

200 to 500 metres, or under 200 on the luxury tiers. See the luxury packages page for the distance bands.

Is a 3 star hotel in Makkah bad?

Not at all. Star ratings in Makkah are locally assigned and a 3 star property is usually clean, functional and perfectly fine. What you are buying at higher tiers is mostly distance.

Should I pay more for a closer hotel or a nicer one?

Closer, every time. You sleep in the room and you walk to the mosque five times a day.

Do 3 star packages include breakfast?

It varies by property, so we confirm it per hotel in your quote rather than making a blanket claim.

Will you tell me the hotel before I pay?

Yes, in writing, with the distance in metres and the nearest gate.

How far is the Madinah hotel?

Central Madinah hotels sit 100 to 250 metres from Masjid an-Nabawi. The proximity premium there is much smaller than in Makkah.

Should I spend more on Makkah or Madinah?

Makkah. You spend more of your Madinah time inside the mosque anyway.

Visa, vaccine and documents

Is the visa included in the price?

Yes, submitted through Nusuk and tracked to approval. Four to seven working days.

What documents do you need?

Passport with at least six months validity from your travel date, a passport photo, and your meningococcal ACWY certificate.

Is the vaccine included in the price?

No, and we say so plainly. Many GP practices charge privately for the Hajj and Umrah ACWY vaccine, so budget for it.

How much is the vaccine?

It varies by provider. Ask your practice about the cost when you book the appointment.

Do children need it?

Yes. Book the whole family in at once.

How long before flying do I need it?

At least ten days. Saudi Arabia will not accept a certificate dated inside that window.

How long is an Umrah visa valid?

90 days from issue with a 90 day maximum stay, and you can travel anywhere in Saudi Arabia on it.

Can I do Umrah on a Saudi tourist visa?

Yes, tourist visa holders may perform Umrah. Rules change, so confirm the current position before relying on it.

What if my passport is not British?

Not a problem with UK residency. Tell us the nationality at enquiry because processing times differ.

Do I need travel insurance?

Strongly recommended, and it is not in the package price. Cancellation, medical and repatriation cover are the ones that matter.

Families and groups

How much do children cost?

Under twos travel as lap infants for a nominal fare. Two to elevens get a reduced rate sharing with two adults. Twelve and over pay adult.

Why do you need exact ages?

Because eleven and twelve price differently by a few hundred pounds, and a birthday between booking and travel changes the fare.

We are six people. Does that cost more per head?

Usually yes, because six does not fit a quad. Two rooms changes the per person cost more than the fare does.

What is the cheapest way for a big family to travel?

Off-peak month, longer stay, and room configurations planned properly rather than squeezed. Tell us the family make-up at enquiry.

Is a group cheaper per person?

On hotels usually yes, because we can block-book rooms. On flights rarely, because airlines price seats individually.

How big a group can you handle?

From five people up to fifty plus. Mosque parties, madrasah groups, ISoc trips and extended families.

What is the cheapest school holiday to travel in?

October half term, on weather and crowds. In 2027, February half term falls in Ramadan, so it will be the most expensive rather than the cheapest.

Can we spread the cost across the family?

Yes. Interest free instalments on a booking four or more months ahead, which on a party of six makes a real difference.

Durations

What is the cheapest length of trip?

7 nights on total cost, 14 nights on cost per night. They answer different questions.

Is 7 nights long enough?

Yes. Four nights Makkah and three Madinah covers every ritual plus the Rawdah and the main Ziyarat sites.

Why do you recommend 10 nights?

Because six nights in Makkah lets you perform Tawaf at four genuinely different times of day, and it is only £46 more than the 7 night.

Is 14 nights worth it?

It costs £126 more than 7 nights in total and doubles your time on the ground. If you have the leave, the arithmetic is not close.

Can I do a shorter trip than 7 nights?

We can arrange 3, 4 and 5 night trips. They are rarely better value because the flight cost does not change.

How many nights in Madinah?

Three at minimum, four or five if you can. Less than three rushes the Rawdah and the Ziyarat sites.

What you get

What is actually in the price?

Return flights, Saudi visa, hotels in both cities, and every ground transfer inside Saudi Arabia including the Makkah to Madinah coach.

Are transfers really included?

Yes, all of them. This is the most common thing left out of a cheap headline price elsewhere.

How long is the Makkah to Madinah leg?

About four and a half hours by road, in an air conditioned coach.

How far is Jeddah airport from Makkah?

Around 90 km, an hour to ninety minutes by road.

Do you arrange Ziyarat?

Yes, in both cities. Makkah covers Jabal al-Noor, Jabal Thawr, Mina and Arafat. Madinah covers Masjid Quba, Masjid Qiblatain, Uhud and the Seven Mosques.

How do I visit the Rawdah?

Free timed permits through the Nusuk app. Nobody can sell you one, at any price.

Can I bring Zamzam home?

Yes, checked baggage only, and only the official factory-sealed 5 litre bottle bought at the Saudi airport counters.

Do I get a named contact?

Yes, one agent from your first message to your return flight, on WhatsApp at any hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is Umrah and who can perform it?

Umrah is a voluntary Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year. It is open to all Muslims worldwide, regardless of age or gender, provided women under 45 are accompanied by a Mahram.

Hajj is the compulsory annual pilgrimage performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage that can be performed throughout the year and is often referred to as the “lesser pilgrimage.”

The actual rituals of Umrah — Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Halq or Taqsir — can be completed in a few hours. However, most pilgrims spend 7 to 14 days in Saudi Arabia to maximise their time in worship at the Haram.

Umrah can be performed throughout the year. However, Ramadan is considered the most spiritually rewarding time, as performing Umrah during this month holds the reward equivalent to Hajj. January to March also offer cooler temperatures and a peaceful atmosphere.

Our Umrah packages typically include return flights from the UK, hotel accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, Umrah visa processing, and 24/7 customer support. Full details are listed on each individual package page.
