More Than Just Umrah Packages
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting, and to run into early March. Packages start at £749 per person for the first ten nights and rise steeply from there.
If you want the last ten nights, book now. Not in the autumn, not after the summer holidays. Now.
Rooms within reasonable walking distance of the Haram for the final ten nights of Ramadan are the single most contested thing in Umrah travel, and they are typically committed six to twelve months ahead. As you read this there are roughly five months left.
That is not a sales line. It is the reason people end up paying twice what they expected for a hotel a kilometre out, in the one week of the year when a kilometre is the difference between getting into the mosque and not.
Quick answer Ramadan 2027 begins around 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting. Eid al-Fitr falls around 9 or 10 March. First ten nights from £749pp. Middle ten from £825. Last ten nights from £1,199. February half term falls inside Ramadan this year, which is unusual and means families can go without taking children out of school. The Haram fills hours before Maghrib in the last ten nights. Proximity stops being about comfort and becomes about access. Hold with a £99 deposit. Packages Umrah, 7 Huxley Avenue, Manchester M8 0SJ. WhatsApp or call +44 7737 144 335. |

All dates approximate and subject to moon sighting. Ramadan runs 29 or 30 days, so the back end can shift by a day.
Window | Approximate dates | What it is |
|---|---|---|
1 Ramadan | Around 8 February 2027 | First day of fasting. First Taraweeh the night before |
First ten nights | 8 to 17 February | Calmest and cheapest part of the month |
Middle ten nights | 18 to 27 February | Building. Still manageable |
Last ten nights begin | Around 27 or 28 February | The most crowded ten days of the Islamic year |
Odd nights | 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th of Ramadan | Laylat al-Qadr is sought among these |
Eid al-Fitr | Around 9 or 10 March 2027 | End of the month |
February half term in most English and Welsh authorities falls in the week of 15 February 2027, which sits inside the middle ten nights. Scottish authorities set their own dates and several take a break in the same period.
That collision is unusual and it matters. It means a family can perform Umrah in Ramadan without taking children out of school, which normally is not possible at all.
The Islamic calendar is lunar and runs roughly ten to eleven days shorter than the Gregorian year, so Ramadan walks backwards through the seasons. It has moved out of March and into February, and it will keep moving earlier each year.
Practically, that means Makkah in Ramadan 2027 will sit at around 20 to 30 degrees rather than the 35 plus of a summer Ramadan. Fasting in that weather is considerably easier than it has been in some recent years.
They are genuinely different trips at genuinely different prices, and most people do not realise they have a choice.
From £749pp for 7 nights at 3 star.
The calmest and cheapest way into Ramadan at the Haram. The mosque is full but not impossible, you can still get in for Taraweeh without arriving hours early, and hotels are available at prices that are not frightening.
This is what we recommend for first-time pilgrims, families with young children, and anyone travelling with elderly parents. You get the month, without the crush.
From £825pp for 7 nights at 3 star.
Busier than the first ten and still manageable. This is the window the February half term falls into, so it will be the most competitive of the two calmer options for UK families. Book it earlier than the price suggests you need to.
From £1,199pp for 7 nights at 3 star, and considerably more close in.
The most sought-after ten days of the year and the hardest. There is a full and honest section on what it is actually like below. If this is what you want, the booking timeline is the whole game.
From £1,749pp for 21 days at 3 star.
Our recommendation for anybody serious about the last ten nights, and the reason is practical rather than spiritual. You arrive around the tenth day, settle in while the mosque is busy but not impossible, learn which entrance works at which hour, and are already in place when the pressure arrives.
The alternative is landing into the most crowded ten days of the Islamic year, jet-lagged, looking for your hotel. More on the 21 days page.
Priced on request, because a full month is built rather than picked off a shelf.
Twenty-nine or thirty nights, arriving before the first fast and leaving after Eid. Almost exclusively retired pilgrims and people on a career break. If this is you, ask early, because the hotel side has to be assembled across several bookings.
If you are | Book | Why |
|---|---|---|
A first-time pilgrim | First ten nights | The month without the crush |
Travelling with young children | First ten nights | Manageable crowds, earlier bedtimes |
Taking elderly parents | First ten nights | Access without the physical demand |
Tied to February half term | Middle ten nights | Book early, everyone else has noticed |
Set on Laylat al-Qadr | 21 days covering the run-up | Arrive settled rather than into the crush |
Retired or on a break | Full month | Ask us for a built quote |
Tell us which window and we will check what is left
Written honestly, because most people booking their first Ramadan Umrah have no idea what they are walking into.
Not minutes. Hours. During the final nights the prayer hall fills, then the courtyard, then the upper levels, then the surrounding streets and the piazza.
If you arrive after Asr you may not get inside the building at all. People pray in the road, on the concourse, in hotel lobbies, wherever they can find space and a clear line to the Qibla.
Traffic management around the Haram tightens dramatically in the last ten nights. Roads close to vehicles for periods, hotel shuttles either stop further out or stop running altogether, and taxis cannot get near.
This is the single most important practical fact on this page. A hotel advertising a shuttle is advertising something that may not function during the exact week you booked it for.
You will not sleep at night in any pattern you recognise. Taraweeh runs long after Isha. Many people then return to the mosque for Qiyam in the last third of the night, then Suhoor, then Fajr, then sleep during the day.
Everything is open at 2am and nothing much happens at 2pm. It is one of the more remarkable things about the city and it is genuinely tiring.
Worth saying plainly. Tawaf in the last ten nights is not something you control the pace of. You are carried. For a lot of people that is part of it. For anyone who finds crowds difficult, or who is frail, or who is managing a child, it is hard and occasionally frightening.
The upper levels are the answer if that is you. The circuit is longer and the density is far lower.
Every year people tell us the same thing. That it was the hardest travelling they have done and that they would do it again immediately.
Free iftar is laid out across the mosque floor daily, and volunteers will pull you down to sit with them whether you planned to or not. You will break your fast beside people from thirty countries who do not share a language with you. That happens nowhere else and it is why the last ten nights cost what they cost.
On every other page on this site we argue about metres in terms of convenience. In the last ten nights of Ramadan the argument changes completely.
A room 200 metres out means you go back after Taraweeh, sleep for two hours, and return for Qiyam. You are inside the building because you were close enough to come back before the crowd rebuilt.
A room a kilometre out means you make a choice. Either you stay at the Haram for eight or ten hours straight without a break, or you go back and do not get in again.
Distance | Normal months | Last ten nights of Ramadan |
|---|---|---|
Under 200 m | Very comfortable | You can return between prayers. This is the point |
200 to 400 m | Comfortable | Workable. Return once a night rather than twice |
400 to 700 m | Fine | Difficult. You will commit to long stays |
700 m to 1.2 km | Manageable with a shuttle | The shuttle may not run. Plan to walk |
Over 1.2 km | Shuttle territory | Not advisable in this window |
For the last ten nights specifically, we would rather sell you a shorter trip closer in than a longer trip further out. Five nights at 300 metres will give you more than ten nights at 1.2 km, and that is the opposite of the advice we give for every other month of the year.
The luxury page sets out the proximity bands and what closing the gap actually costs.
Ramadan pricing works by window rather than by month, and the gap between the first ten nights and the last ten is larger than most people expect.
Hotel tier | First ten nights | Middle ten nights | Last ten nights |
|---|---|---|---|
3 Star | From £749 | From £825 | From £1,199 |
4 Star | From £899 | From £999 | From £1,449 |
5 Star | From £1,049 | From £1,175 | From £1,749 |
Hotel tier | 14 nights | 21 days (20 nights) |
|---|---|---|
3 Star | From £1,399 | From £1,749 |
4 Star | From £1,699 | From £2,149 |
5 Star | From £1,999 | From £2,549 |
Per person, quad sharing. Includes return flights from your nearest UK airport, both hotels, the Saudi Umrah visa, all three transfers and guided Ziyarat. Twin or double occupancy adds more in Ramadan than at other times because rooms are scarcer.
Supply. There is a finite number of rooms within walking distance of the Haram and there is no way to build more in the time available. Demand for that specific week comes from every Muslim country in the world simultaneously.
We price the same way we price everything else, £20 under the lowest comparable UK package for the same window and tier. What we cannot do is make Ramadan cheap, and any agency claiming to has either found a hotel a long way out or is not telling you something.
Off-peak, a 7 night 3 star package is £499. In the last ten nights of Ramadan it is £1,199. That is the same flights, the same visa and a comparable hotel.
If the figure is the obstacle, the first ten nights at £749 is a genuinely good trip and the post-Ramadan window in mid-March is one of the cheapest of the entire year.
Concrete, because vague advice about booking early is useless.
If you want | Book by | Status as of now |
|---|---|---|
Last ten nights, close in | Already | Very limited. Ask today |
Last ten nights, further out | September 2026 | Tight |
21 days covering the run-up | September 2026 | Tight |
February half term week | September 2026 | Competitive, book early |
Middle ten nights | October 2026 | Available |
First ten nights | November 2026 | Good availability |
Post-Ramadan, mid-March onwards | December 2026 | Wide open and cheap |
Not that prices simply rise. That the inventory close to the Haram disappears entirely and what remains is a long way out. In the last ten nights, a long way out is the wrong product at any price.
Book the flights and hotel early and the visa later, because the single-entry Umrah visa now gives you only 30 days from issue to enter the country. Applying in October for a February trip does not work. We time the submission to your departure. Detail on the visa page.
Book the ACWY appointment as soon as you pay your deposit. It is a visa requirement and the certificate must be dated at least ten days before you arrive. Ramadan is the season when GP appointment waits are longest, because everybody is doing it at once.
Worth its own section because it is genuinely unusual.
Ramadan starting around 8 February means the half term week in mid-February falls inside the month. In a normal year, taking children to Ramadan Umrah means taking them out of school.
A family can perform Umrah in Ramadan on a school holiday. For parents who have been waiting for exactly this alignment, this is the year.
Every other family in Britain has spotted it. That single week will be the most contested UK-origin booking of the whole Ramadan period, more so than the last ten nights, because the last ten nights compete globally while half term competes locally and everybody local wants the same seven days.
Book it now, take the first ten or middle ten nights rather than holding out for the last ten, and accept a hotel slightly further out than you would in a quieter month. With children, the first ten nights is the better trip anyway.
Scottish and Northern Irish term dates differ, so check your own council rather than assuming.
The practical section, and the one that will make the biggest difference to your trip.
Do not try to keep a UK sleep pattern. Most people who manage well sleep from after Fajr until late morning, and again for a couple of hours in the late afternoon before Maghrib.
That second sleep is the one people skip and the one that decides whether they last the month.
You will have flown, you may be fasting, and Tawaf and Sa’i are physically demanding. Arrive, break your fast, sleep, and perform Umrah the following day or that night after Taraweeh when the Mataf thins.
The window is long and most people under-drink in it. Zamzam is free and everywhere inside the Haram. Dehydration over a fortnight of fasting in a hot climate is the most common reason people end up unwell.
Laid out across the mosque floor daily. Dates, water, yoghurt, bread. Volunteers will pull you down to join them.
This is also why we advise against booking full board for a Ramadan trip. You would be paying for a hotel buffet upstairs while one of the better experiences of the month happens on the floor of the mosque. More on board options on the all inclusive page.
Everything is open. The area around both Harams is busier at 2am in Ramadan than at midday. You will not struggle to eat.
After Suhoor and before Fajr, or in the middle of the morning. Not after Maghrib, and not straight after Taraweeh, unless being carried by a crowd is what you want.
Far less dense than ground level, and in the last ten nights it is the difference between a Tawaf you can complete and one you cannot. The circuit is longer because the radius is bigger. That is a fair trade.
Free through the Nusuk app and released on a rolling basis. In Ramadan they are taken within minutes and women have fewer sessions.
Book the moment your visa is approved. On a longer stay you get more chances, which is another argument for the 14 or 21 night options.
A question we are asked constantly and one where we will point you to somebody qualified rather than answer it ourselves.
It is widely taught that a traveller is permitted not to fast during travel and to make up the missed days afterwards. That concession exists precisely for journeys like this one.
Most people fast for the days they are settled and take the concession on the flight days, particularly on a long connecting itinerary from Scotland or Northern Ireland where you may be travelling sixteen hours.
Your local imam, before you travel. The specifics depend on your circumstances, your health and which position you follow, and none of that is a travel agency’s to rule on. We arrange the flights.
Tell us at booking if you intend to fast on the travel day. It changes which flight time we recommend, and an evening departure is considerably kinder than a 6am one if you have been fasting since dawn.
We would rather say this than take a booking somebody regrets.
You have never performed Tawaf, you do not know the building, and you are doing it in the most crowded conditions of the year while fasting. Plenty of people manage. Plenty of people also come home saying they wish they had done a normal Umrah first.
The first ten nights of Ramadan gives you the month and a manageable version of it.
The crowd density and the inverted sleep pattern are genuinely hard on under-tens. The first ten nights, or a non-Ramadan trip, is the kinder booking.
If the shuttle stops running and the roads close, a hotel at 900 metres becomes a 900 metre walk in a crowd. If you are booking for a parent in their eighties for the last ten nights, book under 300 metres or book a different window.
The trip runs at night. If you need eight hours in one block you will find the last ten nights very difficult.
Around 9 or 10 March 2027, subject to the sighting.
Eid prayer at the Haram is enormous and the atmosphere afterwards is unlike anything else. The city empties over the following two or three days as the Ramadan crowd leaves, and there is a strange quiet that people who stay on always mention.
If Eid matters to you, you need a package that runs past it rather than ending on the 29th. The 21 day option is built for exactly this. A 7 night last-ten-nights package will usually have you flying home before it.
The two or three days after Eid are among the busiest departure days of the year out of Jeddah and Madinah. Book early and expect the airport to be slow.
If the Ramadan figures are simply out of reach, this is worth knowing.
Demand falls off sharply after Eid because everybody who wanted to go has just been. Mid-March through April 2027 is genuinely one of the cheapest windows of the entire year, with Makkah at a comfortable 22 to 32 degrees.
You will not have Ramadan. You will have a quiet Haram, mild weather and prices close to the January floor. For a first Umrah, plenty of people would say that is the better trip.
At £749 rather than £1,199, you are in the Haram in Ramadan, breaking your fast on the mosque floor, praying Taraweeh. The reward for Umrah in Ramadan is not confined to the final ten days.
Full detail on where the value windows sit through the year on the cheap packages page.
Transfers in the last ten nights are scheduled around road closures rather than around the clock, and we will tell you the realistic timings rather than the theoretical ones.
Ziyarat is arranged for daytime hours when the sites are open and you are not competing with the evening. Detail on the Ziyarat page.
Travel insurance, your ACWY vaccine, meals beyond breakfast, local taxis, and getting to your UK airport.
Airport guides: Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Gatwick, Glasgow, Stansted.

Grouped by topic. Direct answer first, detail underneath where it earns its place. All dates approximate and subject to moon sighting.
It begins around 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting, and runs into early March.
They begin around 27 or 28 February 2027, depending on whether the month runs 29 or 30 days.
Around 9 or 10 March 2027.
It is sought among the odd nights of the last ten, being the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th of Ramadan.
The Islamic calendar is lunar and about ten to eleven days shorter than the Gregorian year, so it walks backwards through the seasons.
Makkah around 20 to 30 degrees, which is considerably easier for fasting than a summer Ramadan.
Yes, by a day either way, because they depend on moon sighting. Build a day of slack into your plans.
Yes, in most English and Welsh authorities the mid-February week sits inside the middle ten nights. Scottish dates vary by council.
First ten nights, middle ten, last ten, a longer stay covering the run-up plus the last ten, or the full month.
The first ten nights, from £749 per person for 7 nights at 3 star.
The last ten nights, from £1,199 at 3 star and considerably more close in.
The first ten nights. You get the month without the crush.
The first ten nights, comfortably. The crowd density and inverted sleep pattern in the last ten are hard on under-tens.
A longer stay covering the run-up plus the last ten nights, so you arrive settled rather than into the crush.
Yes, priced on request because it is built rather than picked off a shelf. Ask early.
The reward for Umrah in Ramadan applies across the month. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said Umrah in Ramadan equals Hajj in reward, reported in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
The Haram fills hours before Maghrib. During the final nights the hall, the courtyard, the upper levels and the surrounding streets all fill.
Yes. Arriving after Asr can mean not getting inside the building at all. People pray in the road and on the concourse.
Often not. Roads close to traffic for periods and hotel shuttles either stop further out or stop entirely.
Not close to the Haram during closures. Plan to walk.
Inverted. Taraweeh runs long after Isha, many return for Qiyam in the last third of the night, then Suhoor, then Fajr, then sleep during the day.
You do not control the pace, you are carried. For anyone who finds crowds difficult it is hard and occasionally frightening.
The upper levels. Longer circuit, far lower density, and in the last ten nights it is the difference between completing a Tawaf and not.
Every year people tell us it was the hardest travelling they have done and they would do it again immediately.
Under 400 metres if you can, and under 200 is genuinely different. Distance stops being about comfort and becomes about whether you can return between prayers.
You commit to eight or ten hour stays at the Haram, or you go back and do not get in again.
In the last ten nights, no. It may not be running when you need it.
For the last ten nights, we would recommend it. Five nights at 300 metres beats ten nights at 1.2 km, which is the opposite of our advice in every other month.
Considerably. The normal distance rules apply and a 3 star with a shuttle is a perfectly good booking.
Both of them, in writing, with the distance in metres and the nearest gate. In Ramadan this matters more than at any other time.
You get a shortlist and a guaranteed maximum distance. Never accept near Haram in a Ramadan quote.
Yes. Masjid an-Nabawi is busy but the area is flatter, the walks shorter and the pressure lower than Makkah.
From £749 for the first ten nights, £825 for the middle ten and £1,199 for the last ten, per person for 7 nights at 3 star.
From £899, £999 and £1,449 across the three windows.
From £1,049, £1,175 and £1,749.
From £1,399 at 3 star, £1,699 at 4 star and £1,999 at 5 star, covering the last ten nights.
From £1,749 at 3 star, £2,149 at 4 star and £2,549 at 5 star.
Supply. There are a finite number of rooms within walking distance and demand comes from every Muslim country at once.
A 7 night 3 star package is £499 off-peak and £1,199 in the last ten nights. Same flights, same visa, comparable hotel.
If a quote looks dramatically lower, ask for the hotel name and the distance in metres. That question answers it.
Yes, £20 under the lowest comparable UK package for the same window and tier. What we cannot do is make Ramadan cheap.
£99 per person, same as any other package.
Yes, interest free. On a Ramadan booking made now for February, that spreads across five or six payments.
Yes, and it is the headline rate. Twin or double adds more in Ramadan than usual because rooms are scarcer.
Now. Rooms close to the Haram for that window are typically committed six to twelve months ahead.
For the closest properties, possibly. Ask us today and we will tell you what is genuinely left rather than what we wish were left.
By November 2026 for good availability.
By September 2026. It will be the most contested UK-origin week of the whole period.
Not simply that prices rise. That inventory close to the Haram disappears and what remains is a long way out, which is the wrong product at any price in this window.
Later than you think. The single-entry visa gives 30 days from issue to enter, so we time submission to your departure rather than rushing it.
The same week you pay your deposit. Ramadan is when GP appointment waits are longest because everybody is doing it at once.
The first twenty nights, with difficulty and at a price. The last ten nights, realistically no.
Yes, the mid-February week in most English and Welsh authorities sits inside the middle ten nights.
Because normally, taking children to Ramadan Umrah means taking them out of school. This year it does not.
Extremely. Every UK family has spotted the same thing and everybody wants the same seven days.
Book now, take the first ten or middle ten rather than holding out for the last ten, and accept a hotel slightly further out.
No. Scottish councils set their own term dates and they vary. Check your own.
In two blocks. After Fajr until late morning, and again for a couple of hours in the late afternoon before Maghrib.
The afternoon one, and it is the one that decides whether you last the month.
No. Arrive, break your fast, sleep, and perform it the next day or that night after Taraweeh when the Mataf thins.
After Suhoor and before Fajr, or mid-morning. Not after Maghrib and not straight after Taraweeh.
Free iftar is laid out across the mosque floor daily. Dates, water, yoghurt, bread, and volunteers who will pull you down to join them.
Generally no. You would be paying for a hotel buffet while one of the better experiences of the month happens on the floor of the mosque.
Everything is open. The area around both Harams is busier at 2am than at midday.
Drink properly across the whole window between Maghrib and Fajr rather than just at iftar. Zamzam is free and everywhere inside the Haram.
Free through Nusuk, taken within minutes in Ramadan, and women have fewer sessions. Book the moment your visa is approved.
Considerably, because more nights in Madinah means more chances and cancellations release throughout.
It is widely taught that a traveller is permitted not to fast during travel and to make the days up afterwards.
Fast on the days they are settled and take the concession on flight days, particularly on a long connecting itinerary.
Your local imam, before you travel. The specifics depend on your circumstances and it is not a travel agency’s to rule on.
Yes, considerably. An evening departure is much kinder than a 6am one. Tell us at booking and we will factor it in.
Yes, and the crew on these routes are entirely used to passengers fasting and to Suhoor timings.
The first ten nights, yes. The last ten nights as your first ever Umrah is a lot, and some people come home wishing they had done a normal trip first.
In the first ten nights, yes. In the last ten, we would suggest otherwise.
First ten nights, or last ten only if you can book under 300 metres. If the shuttle stops and the roads close, a 900 metre hotel means a 900 metre walk in a crowd.
You will find the last ten nights very difficult. The trip runs at night.
Yes, before you pay. We would rather sell you the first ten nights that works than the last ten that does not.
Only on a longer package. A 7 night last-ten-nights trip usually has you flying home before it.
Enormous, and the city empties over the following two or three days in a way people who stay on always mention.
Among the busiest departure days of the year out of Jeddah and Madinah. Book early and expect the airport to be slow.
Substantially. Mid-March through April 2027 is one of the cheapest windows of the whole year, with Makkah at 22 to 32 degrees.
For a first Umrah on a tight budget, plenty of people would say it is the better trip. Detail on the cheap packages page.
WhatsApp +44 7737 144 335 and say Ramadan in the first message, because it changes how we handle the enquiry.
Which window, who is travelling with ages, whether anybody has mobility limitations, and your nearest airport.
Yes, and offer the alternatives, rather than taking a deposit for something we cannot deliver.
Yes, scheduled for daytime hours around the fasting day rather than competing with the evening. More on the Ziyarat page.
In the last ten nights, yes. We give you realistic timings rather than theoretical ones.
Yes, and they need booking earlier than individual ones because blocks of rooms are harder to secure.
Our blog covers the practical side, and the packages hub has every tier, month, city and airport.
From £749 per person for the first ten nights. Return flights, both hotels named with the distance in metres, the Saudi visa, all three transfers and guided Ziyarat. Held with a £99 deposit.

Message us today rather than after the weekend. Ramadan begins around 8 February 2027 and the rooms that make the last ten nights worth doing are going now.

Umrah is a voluntary Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year. It is open to all Muslims worldwide, regardless of age or gender, provided women under 45 are accompanied by a Mahram.
Hajj is the compulsory annual pilgrimage performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage that can be performed throughout the year and is often referred to as the “lesser pilgrimage.”
The actual rituals of Umrah — Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Halq or Taqsir — can be completed in a few hours. However, most pilgrims spend 7 to 14 days in Saudi Arabia to maximise their time in worship at the Haram.
Umrah can be performed throughout the year. However, Ramadan is considered the most spiritually rewarding time, as performing Umrah during this month holds the reward equivalent to Hajj. January to March also offer cooler temperatures and a peaceful atmosphere.
Our Umrah packages typically include return flights from the UK, hotel accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, Umrah visa processing, and 24/7 customer support. Full details are listed on each individual package page.
