If you want to go before Ramadan and you are tied to term dates, this is your window.

The Easter Vacation Is the Trap

This is the finding worth reading twice. The Easter vacation is normally the second-longest break of the academic year and the obvious choice for a student trip. In 2027 it is almost entirely unusable.

Easter 2027 falls in late March, which sits right at the edge of the Umrah season closing ahead of Hajj. From roughly early April, Saudi Arabia stops issuing Umrah visas and requires Umrah pilgrims to have left the Kingdom. So the first days of the Easter vacation are risky and the rest of it is closed. Summer Is Open, and Late September Is the Prize

Why Late September Is the Single Best Window in 2027

If you are a student with a long summer vacation, September is the answer. The heat has broken, the crowds have thinned, prices are still at their annual low, and you are back before term starts. It combines the cheapest pricing of the year with the most comfortable conditions of the year, and it is available to students in a way it simply is not to anyone working a normal job.

The First Ashra and February Half Term

Because Ramadan starts on 8 February, its opening ten days coincide with the UK school half term. For families that is the strongest opportunity of 2027 — school holidays at first-Ashra prices rather than final-ten-nights prices. The 2027 Closure

Umrah is not possible from roughly early April to early June 2027. Saudi Arabia suspends Umrah visas ahead of Hajj and requires Umrah pilgrims to leave the Kingdom before the season begins. Hajj 2027 falls on 14 to 18 May, with the Day of Arafah on Saturday 15 May and Eid al-Adha on Sunday 16 May.

These dates follow the pattern of recent seasons and have not been confirmed for 2027 by the Saudi authorities. This is the closure that makes the Easter vacation unusable for students and removes the Easter and May half-term windows for families. Speak to us before booking anything for April or May 2027.

Autumn Is the Best Window of the Year

Late September to November brings moderate crowds, temperatures that have eased and prices at their comfortable low. Preston saw the largest increase in minority ethnic population of any Lancashire district between the censuses — up 12,710 people, a rise of 45.7 per cent.
