More Than Just Umrah Packages

Umrah Packages from Manchester Airport 2026 and 2027 | Direct Flights to Jeddah from £499 per Person

Umrah packages from Manchester Airport start at £499 per person for 7 nights, with return flights, your Saudi visa, hotels in Makkah and Madinah, and every transfer once you land.

One thing worth saying before anything else. Our office is about twelve miles from the runway.

Packages Umrah is at 7 Huxley Avenue in Cheetham Hill, M8 0SJ. Roughly half an hour from Terminal 2 on a quiet road, longer at five o’clock. So if you want to sit across a desk from the person booking your Umrah, bring the passports in and do it that way. Most of our customers still book on WhatsApp because it is quicker. But the door is there, and for a first Umrah or a booking for elderly parents, a lot of families would rather look someone in the eye.

The rest of this page is the stuff that has changed at Manchester recently, because a lot has, and then the packages.

Terminal 1 is gone. If anything says T1, it is out of date

This is the single most common source of confusion at Manchester right now and it will catch people for another year.

What happened

Terminal 1 closed to departing passengers on 19 November 2025, after more than sixty years, as part of a £1.3 billion transformation programme. Every airline that used it moved to Terminal 2, with easyJet and Emirates among the last to shift across.

The old Terminal 1 building was not demolished. Its entrance, security hall and duty free area were absorbed into an expanded Terminal 3 and officially rebranded on 5 March 2026. So if you are directed toward what your memory calls Terminal 1, you are walking into Terminal 3.

Where things are now

Terminal

Who is here

Relevant if

You are on almost any Umrah routing

Terminal 3

You are on a low cost European leg

Terminal 1

Closed

Your booking confirmation is old

Terminal 2 more than doubled in size across the programme. It now has a second security hall with CT scanners, new piers with double air bridges for wide-body aircraft, and a completely rebuilt check-in hall. For Umrah passengers on Saudi and Gulf carriers, this is where you will be.

The practical instruction

Check your boarding pass, not your memory and not a guide written in 2024. If your booking confirmation still says Terminal 1, it has been reassigned and you need to confirm which one. Every itinerary we send names the terminal.

The 100ml trap at Manchester

If you read one section on this page, make it this one. It costs people money every single week.

Manchester still runs the 100ml rule

Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Bristol have all moved to a 2 litre liquid allowance. Manchester has not. Every liquid, gel, paste and aerosol in your hand luggage must be in a container of 100ml or less, and this applies in both terminals.

The odd part is that Manchester has the technology. CT scanners are installed across all security lanes. What the airport does not have yet is Department for Transport approval to lift the limit, and each airport needs that separately. Scanners capable, approval pending.

What has changed at Manchester security

Two things, and they are genuinely better. You no longer need the clear plastic bag, and liquids can stay inside your hand luggage through the scanner. Laptops and tablets stay in the bag too.

So the ritual is gone. The limit is not.

Why this hits Umrah travellers specifically

Because a lot of pilgrims fly out from Manchester and come home through Jeddah, or fly out from Heathrow one year and Manchester the next, and assume the rules travel with them. They do not. The rule that applies is the rule at whichever airport you are standing in.

And there is an Ihram angle. People buy unscented soap and shampoo for Ihram, decant it into travel bottles, and lose it at Manchester security.

The travel bottle detail almost nobody knows

If you use your own refillable travel bottles, the container must have its capacity printed on it by the manufacturer. A handwritten label saying 100ml will not pass, and security will take it regardless of how much liquid is actually inside.

Buy proper travel bottles with the size moulded in, or buy small unscented soap in the UK before you travel. Either works. Guessing does not.

What to do

Put anything over 100ml in the hold bag. Keep medication in your hand luggage with the prescription or pharmacy label, because medicines are exempt from the volume cap, but you should declare them before screening rather than after.

Parking, drop-off and the penalty nobody warns you about

The car parks were renumbered

From 5 March 2026 every Manchester Airport car park moved to a numbered P1 to P16 system. If you have a booking confirmation or a memory of a named car park, check the new number before you set off.

Barrierless parking and the £100 notice

Several Manchester Airport car parks and forecourts now run barrierless. No barrier, no ticket, no payment machine on the way out. Cameras read your plate and you pay online afterwards.

If you do not pay by midnight the following day, a Parking Charge Notice is issued at £100, reduced to £60 if you settle within fourteen days. Plenty of people find out weeks later when the letter arrives.

This applies at forecourt drop-off points as well as car parks. So the uncle who drops you at the terminal and drives off is the one who ends up with the notice, and he will not know to look for it.

Tell whoever is dropping you off

Genuinely. Send them a message with the payment instruction before they leave the house. It is the single cheapest piece of advice on this page.

Long stay on a 14 night trip

Two weeks of parking is a real cost and it is worth pricing against the train, the tram or a lift. On a family booking it can be the difference between three people going and four.

Getting to Manchester Airport

The Station

Manchester Airport has its own train, tram and bus interchange, called The Station, connected to Terminal 2 by the Skylink, an enclosed elevated walkway with travelators. From The Station, signposted routes take you through to Terminal 3.

Train

Direct trains reach Manchester city centre in around twenty minutes, and there are through services from across the North without changing in Manchester. For anyone coming from Bolton, Preston, Blackburn or further, the train often beats driving once you account for parking.

Metrolink

The tram runs to the airport from the city centre. Slower than the train and cheaper, and it works well if you are travelling light. Less well with four suitcases.

Driving

Straight off the M56, which links to the M60 ring road, so most of Greater Manchester and Lancashire is a direct motorway run. From Cheetham Hill it is about twelve miles.

How early should I arrive?

Three hours for a Jeddah or Madinah flight.

Not because Manchester is slow, but because Umrah flights are heavy-baggage flights. Families check in four or five cases each, nearly all of them close to the weight limit, and half of them get repacked at the desk. The queue behaves nothing like a Malaga flight queue. In Ramadan season, three hours is the floor rather than the target.

Prayer facilities at Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport provides multi-faith prayer rooms for passengers and staff.

Here is where we are going to be honest rather than precise. The terminal layout changed substantially through 2025 and 2026. Terminal 1 closed, Terminal 2 more than doubled, and Terminal 3 gained a new entrance and security hall in March. Facility locations moved with all of that, and any guide quoting an exact gate number from before those changes is unreliable.

So the sensible instruction is to check the airport’s own terminal map on the day, or ask at an information desk once you are through security. It takes a minute and it will be right.

What to expect on wudu

As at most UK airports, dedicated ablution provision is limited. Many travellers use the accessible washrooms nearby or perform tayammum. A small towel in your hand luggage solves most of the problem and weighs nothing.

Praying before you leave

Worth remembering that Cheetham Hill, Longsight, Rusholme and Whalley Range all have mosques within easy reach of the motorway routes to the airport. For an early flight, plenty of families pray Fajr locally and then drive down, rather than trying to sort it out airside.

Manchester is the North’s Umrah airport

Manchester handled 32.1 million passengers in 2025 across roughly 199 destinations. It is the third busiest airport in the UK and by a distance the biggest outside London.

For Umrah that matters because it means direct Saudi services rather than a connection, and it means competition on the route, which holds fares down.

It also means you do not have to live in Manchester to use it.

Same price as our Heathrow departures

Deliberately. There is no northern premium and no London discount. Manchester has enough direct Saudi capacity that we are not paying to route you around.

How the price is set

We check comparable UK packages every month and sit £20 under the lowest one we can find for the same nights and the same hotel tier. That is the entire policy. No introductory rate that quietly expires.

Tier detail: 3 star, 4 star, 5 star, and the luxury range with Haram facing and Kaaba view rooms.

Choosing your length of stay

7 nights from Manchester, from £499

Four nights Makkah, three Madinah. Covers Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i and Halq comfortably, plus the Rawdah and the main Madinah sites.

A direct flight makes this a genuine five working day trip with no connection day wasted at either end. Our 7 night 3 star package is the most booked thing we sell.

10 nights from Manchester, from £545

Six nights Makkah, four Madinah, and only £46 more than the 7 night.

Six nights in Makkah is where the trip changes. You can perform Tawaf at four genuinely different times of day. Fajr with the Mataf half empty and the marble cold underfoot. Mid morning. After Maghrib when it is at its fullest. Then somewhere past midnight when it thins out again and the whole place feels different.

12 nights from Manchester, from £579

Seven Makkah, five Madinah. Suits retired pilgrims and bigger family groups moving at the pace of the slowest person.

14 nights from Manchester, from £625

Eight Makkah, six Madinah. Works out at £45 a night against £71 a night on the 7 night trip, for the same flights and the same hotels.

What is included

Return flights from Manchester

Direct to Jeddah or Madinah where the fare works, or a single-ticket Gulf connection where it prices better. We name the airline, the terminal and the flight numbers before you pay anything beyond the deposit.

Saudi Umrah visa

Submitted through Nusuk, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah platform, and tracked to approval. Four to seven working days.

Hotels in Makkah and Madinah

Named hotel, distance to the Haram in metres, nearest gate. In writing, before you pay the balance.

All ground transport in Saudi Arabia

Airport to hotel, the Makkah to Madinah leg, and the return to the airport.

A named agent, and an office you can walk into

One person from your first message to your return flight, on WhatsApp at any hour. And if something goes badly wrong and you want to speak to a human face to face, we are twelve miles from the airport rather than four hundred.

Not included

Travel insurance, your meningococcal ACWY vaccine, meals beyond breakfast where breakfast applies, Manchester parking or train fares, and whatever you buy while you are out there.

Booking in person in Manchester

Most people book on WhatsApp. Some prefer not to, and that is a perfectly reasonable position when you are handing over four passports and a few thousand pounds.

What to bring

  • Passports for everyone travelling
  • Rough dates, or the month if the dates are flexible
  • Ages of any children, exactly, because eleven and twelve price differently
  • Any mobility or medical detail we should plan around

What happens

We go through hotels on a screen with the distances and the gates, price two or three options side by side, and you leave without paying anything if you want to think about it. There is no sitting you down and working on you until you sign.

English or Urdu

Either, and it makes no difference to the price. For a lot of families the person booking is a son or daughter and the person travelling is a parent, and the conversation ends up happening in both languages at once. That is normal here.

Where we are

7 Huxley Avenue, Manchester, M8 0SJ. Cheetham Hill. Ring +44 7737 144 335 before you set off if you want to be sure someone is free.

Message us before you come in

Coming home into Manchester

Everyone plans the outbound leg and nobody plans the arrival. Four things worth knowing.

The Zamzam problem is a weight problem

You are allowed one factory-sealed 5 litre Zamzam container per passenger, bought at the official counters in the Saudi airport. A family of four therefore lands at Manchester with twenty litres of water on the belt, which is twenty kilos.

That is fine until you are pushing it, four suitcases and a tired child from baggage reclaim to a car park that is now called P9 and is not where you remember it. Bring a pound coin for a trolley and think the walk through before you land.

Sealed duty free bags stay sealed

If you buy liquids in Jeddah or Madinah duty free and you have a connection anywhere, they come in a sealed tamper-evident bag with the receipt visible inside. Do not open it. Opened, it becomes a normal liquid and the 100ml rule applies at your connecting airport. This catches people who want a drink of their new Zamzam on the plane.

Pay the parking before you go to bed

If you left a car in a barrierless car park, the clock started when you drove in and it does not care that you have been away for two weeks and landed at 5am. Pay it the day you get back rather than the day you unpack.

Nobody is at their best at 5am

Most Jeddah services land into Manchester early. If you have elderly parents with you, arrange the lift properly rather than assuming you will sort a taxi out on the day. A pre-booked pick-up at 5am is a very different experience to standing on the forecourt with twenty kilos of Zamzam.

Umrah from Manchester Airport: 116 questions answered

Grouped by topic. Direct answer first, then the detail where it earns its place.

Terminals and finding your flight

Which terminal do Umrah flights leave from at Manchester?

Terminal 2 for almost all of them. Terminal 2 now handles around 75% of Manchester flights, including the Gulf and Saudi carriers.

Is Terminal 1 still open at Manchester Airport?

No. It closed to departures on 19 November 2025 after more than sixty years.

My booking says Terminal 1. What do I do?

It has been reassigned. Check your airline app or your boarding pass, and it will be Terminal 2 or Terminal 3.

What happened to the Terminal 1 building?

Its entrance, security hall and duty free area were absorbed into an expanded Terminal 3 and rebranded on 5 March 2026.

Which terminal is Ryanair at Manchester?

Terminal 3, using the former Terminal 1 entrance.

How many terminals does Manchester have now?

Two. Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

How do I get between Manchester Airport terminals?

Terminal 2 connects to The Station by the Skylink, an enclosed elevated walkway with travelators, and signposted routes go on from there to Terminal 3.

Why did Manchester close a terminal?

A £1.3 billion transformation programme more than doubled the size of Terminal 2, which made Terminal 1 unnecessary.

How busy is Manchester Airport?

32.1 million passengers in 2025 across around 199 destinations. Third busiest in the UK and the biggest outside London.

Are there direct flights from Manchester to Jeddah?

Yes, direct services operate on the route.

Are there direct flights from Manchester to Madinah?

Direct and single-ticket connecting options both exist. Madinah is often the calmer arrival with elderly travellers.

Is Manchester or Heathrow better for Umrah?

For anyone in the North, Manchester, comfortably. You avoid a domestic connection or a four hour drive, and our prices are the same from both.

Liquids and security

What is the liquid limit at Manchester Airport?

100ml per container. Manchester has not moved to the 2 litre allowance.

Why is Manchester different from Heathrow on liquids?

Each airport needs separate Department for Transport approval to lift the limit. Manchester has the CT scanners installed but not the approval yet.

Which UK airports allow 2 litres?

Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Bristol at the time of writing. Manchester, Stansted, Luton, Glasgow and Liverpool still run 100ml.

Do I still need a clear plastic bag at Manchester?

No. That requirement has gone. Liquids under 100ml can stay in your hand luggage.

Do I have to take my laptop out at Manchester?

No. The CT scanners read it in the bag.

Does the 100ml rule apply in both terminals?

Yes, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, no difference.

Can I bring water through security at Manchester?

Not over 100ml. Bring an empty bottle and fill it airside.

What about my unscented soap for Ihram?

Under 100ml in hand luggage, or put a full-size bottle in the hold. Buy it in the UK rather than hunting for it at Jeddah airport.

Can I use my own refillable travel bottles?

Only if the capacity is printed on the bottle by the manufacturer. A handwritten label will not pass and security will take it regardless of how much is inside.

What about medication?

Exempt from the volume limit, but declare it before screening starts and carry the prescription or the pharmacy label. Keep it in hand luggage, never the hold.

What about baby milk and food?

Also exempt. You may be asked to open it or have it screened separately.

What gets confiscated most often?

Full-size deodorant aerosols and full-size toothpaste. Both are almost always over 100ml.

I am flying home through an airport that allows 2 litres. Does that help?

On that leg only. The rule that counts is the rule at whichever airport you are departing from at that moment.

Parking, drop-off and getting there

Where do I park at Manchester Airport?

All car parks moved to a numbered P1 to P16 system on 5 March 2026. Check the number on your booking rather than relying on an old name.

Is there a drop-off charge at Manchester Airport?

Yes, and several forecourts and car parks are barrierless, so you pay online afterwards rather than at a machine.

What happens if I forget to pay?

A Parking Charge Notice of £100 is issued if you have not paid by midnight the following day, reduced to £60 if settled within fourteen days.

Whose problem is the drop-off fee?

The driver’s. So if a relative is dropping you off, send them the payment instruction before they leave the house. They will not think to look for it.

How do I get to Manchester Airport by train?

The airport has its own station in The Station interchange, about twenty minutes from Manchester city centre, with through services from across the North.

Does the tram go to Manchester Airport?

Yes, Metrolink runs to the airport. Cheaper and slower than the train, and fine if you are travelling light.

Is the train better than driving?

For a 14 night trip, often yes once you price two weeks of parking. For a 7 night trip with four cases, driving usually wins.

How early should I get to Manchester Airport?

Three hours for a Jeddah or Madinah flight. Umrah flights are heavy-baggage flights and check-in moves at a different pace.

Why are Umrah check-in queues so slow?

Families check in four or five cases each, most near the weight limit, and a good number get opened and repacked at the desk.

Is Manchester Airport busier in summer?

Yes, July and August are the peak weeks. Add half an hour to whatever you were planning.

Prayer and facilities

Is there a prayer room at Manchester Airport?

Yes, the airport provides multi-faith prayer rooms.

Where exactly are they?

Check the airport’s own terminal map on the day or ask at an information desk. The terminals changed substantially through 2025 and 2026, so any guide quoting a gate number from before then is unreliable.

Are there wudu facilities?

Limited, as at most UK airports. Many travellers use the accessible washrooms nearby or perform tayammum. A small towel in your hand luggage helps.

Can I pray before I leave for the airport?

Plenty of families do. Cheetham Hill, Longsight, Rusholme and Whalley Range all have mosques close to the motorway routes down to the airport.

Is there halal food at Manchester Airport?

Some options exist but the choice is not extensive. If you are particular, eat before you travel or bring something.

Prices and payment

How much is Umrah from Manchester?

From £499 per person for 7 nights, up to £825 for 14 nights in a 5 star hotel, including flights, visa, hotels and Saudi transport.

What is your cheapest package?

£499 per person, 7 nights, 3 star, quad sharing, off-peak.

How much for 10 nights?

From £545 at 3 star, £679 at 4 star, £745 at 5 star.

How much for 12 nights?

From £579 at 3 star, £715 at 4 star, £790 at 5 star.

How much for 14 nights?

From £625 at 3 star. That works out at £45 a night, the best value per night we sell.

Is the price all inclusive?

For off-peak quad sharing, yes. Flights, visa, both hotels and all Saudi ground transport are in the figure.

Is Manchester more expensive than flying from London?

No. We price both identically. There is no northern premium.

How much is the deposit?

£99 per person.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, interest free, if you book four or more months ahead.

When is the balance due?

Eight weeks before departure.

Can I pay in cash at the office?

Come in and we will go through the payment options with you.

Do you price match?

We price under. Bring or send a written quote and we go below it. That is what Beat My Quote is for.

Is quad sharing compulsory?

No. Twin or double adds roughly £180 to £340 per person depending on tier and season.

Do children cost less?

Yes. Under twos travel as lap infants for a nominal fare, two to elevens get a reduced rate sharing with two adults, twelve and over pay adult.

When are prices lowest?

January and November, with September and October close behind on better weather.

How far ahead should I book?

Three to four months normally. Six months or more for Ramadan and December.

Booking with us in person

Where is your office?

7 Huxley Avenue, Manchester, M8 0SJ, in Cheetham Hill. About twelve miles from the airport.

Can I just walk in?

Yes, during business hours. Ring +44 7737 144 335 first if you want to be certain someone is free.

What should I bring to the office?

Passports for everyone travelling, rough dates or the month, exact ages of any children, and anything medical or mobility related we should plan around.

Will I be pressured into booking on the day?

No. You can look at options, take the quote away, and think about it.

Do you speak Urdu?

Yes. English or Urdu, no difference in price or service, and both at once is normal here.

Can my parents come in without me?

Of course. And if you would rather be on the phone while they are sitting with us, that works too.

Do I have to come in, or can I do it all remotely?

Entirely remotely if you prefer. Most bookings are done on WhatsApp. The office is an option, not a requirement.

How quickly will I get a quote?

Same day during business hours, usually within a couple of hours.

Visa, vaccine and documents

How do I get an Umrah visa?

We submit it through Nusuk, the official Saudi platform. Four to seven working days.

What documents do you need?

Passport with at least six months validity from your travel date, a passport photo, and your meningococcal ACWY certificate.

Do I need a vaccine for Umrah?

Yes, meningococcal ACWY is mandatory. No certificate, no visa.

Where do I get the ACWY vaccine in Manchester?

Your GP, or a private travel clinic. Pharmacy travel services across Greater Manchester offer it. Allow at least ten days before you fly.

How long is the certificate valid?

Generally several years. Keep it, it saves you the whole process next time.

How long is an Umrah visa valid?

90 days from issue with a 90 day maximum stay, and you can travel anywhere in Saudi Arabia on it.

Can I do Umrah on a Saudi tourist visa?

Yes, tourist visa holders may perform Umrah. Rules change, so confirm the current position before relying on it.

What if my passport is not British?

Not a problem with UK residency. Tell us the nationality at enquiry because processing times differ by country.

What if my visa is refused?

Rare, and usually a document issue we can fix and resubmit. We tell you the same day.

Do I need travel insurance?

Strongly recommended. Cancellation, medical and repatriation cover are the ones that matter.

Hotels and Saudi Arabia

How close will my hotel be to the Haram?

3 star is typically 700 metres to 1.2 km with a shuttle. 4 star 300 to 700 metres. 5 star 200 to 500 metres, or under 200 on the luxury tiers.

Will you tell me the hotel name before I pay?

Yes, in writing, with the distance in metres and the nearest gate.

What if the hotel is not confirmed yet?

We give you the shortlist and a guaranteed maximum distance rather than writing near Haram and hoping.

Can I get a Kaaba view room?

Yes, on the luxury tier. Pricing is on the luxury packages page.

How far is Jeddah airport from Makkah?

About 90 km, an hour to ninety minutes by road. Included in your package.

Is there a train from Jeddah airport?

Yes, the Haramain High-Speed Railway has a station in the Jeddah Terminal 1 complex, running to Makkah and Madinah.

How do I get from Makkah to Madinah?

Included. Air conditioned coach, about four and a half hours by road.

What is the time difference?

Saudi Arabia is three hours ahead of the UK in winter and two hours ahead during British Summer Time.

Do you arrange Ziyarat?

Yes, in both cities. Makkah covers Jabal al-Noor, Jabal Thawr, Mina and Arafat. Madinah covers Masjid Quba, Masjid Qiblatain, Uhud and the Seven Mosques.

How do I visit the Rawdah?

Free timed permits through the Nusuk app. Nobody can sell you one. Women visit in separate sessions with fewer slots, so book early.

Can I perform Umrah twice on one trip?

Yes. Return to the nearest Miqat, most people use Masjid Aisha at Taneem, re-enter Ihram and come back.

Can I bring Zamzam water home?

Yes, in checked baggage only, and only the official factory-sealed 5 litre bottle bought at the Saudi airport counters. Shop-bought Zamzam gets refused at check-in.

Ihram

Where do I change into Ihram at Manchester?

After security, before boarding. Or on the aircraft before the Miqat is crossed.

Do I travel to the airport in Ihram?

No. Travel normally and change at the airport.

When is the Miqat crossed?

Flying into Jeddah from the UK, roughly half an hour before landing. The crew announce it. You must have entered Ihram and made your intention before that point.

What if I fly into Madinah first?

You do not enter Ihram on the plane. You enter it at Dhul Hulayfah, also called Abyar Ali, about 9 km outside Madinah on the Makkah road. Your coach stops there.

Should I pack Ihram in my suitcase?

No, hand luggage. If your case takes a later flight you still need to enter Ihram on time.

What do women wear for Ihram?

No prescribed garment. Loose modest clothing covering everything except face and hands. Comfortable shoes matter more than people expect.

Families, elderly pilgrims and groups

Which package suits elderly parents?

A hotel under 300 metres from the Haram, 12 or 14 nights, travelling between November and February. And fly direct if you can.

Is a direct flight from Manchester easier for older travellers?

Considerably. No layover, no second security check, no second boarding. That matters a great deal at eighty.

Can I book special assistance at Manchester Airport?

Yes, through the airline, ideally at least 48 hours before you fly. Tell us and we note it on the booking and remind you.

Are wheelchairs available at the Haram?

Yes, at the mosque. There are upper level Tawaf areas designed for wheelchair use where the circuit is longer but far less crowded.

Is Umrah suitable for young children?

Plenty of families manage it. Each child in Ihram needs one adult whose only job is that child.

Do children have to perform Umrah?

It is not obligatory before puberty. Many families have them perform it anyway, which is fine.

Can we get connecting rooms?

Yes, and we price them properly rather than squeezing six people into a quad.

Do you do mosque group bookings?

Yes, from five people up to fifty plus. Mosque groups, ISoc trips and large family parties across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Can you coordinate a group travelling from different towns?

Yes. Everyone goes on the same routing and we handle rooming and documents as one job.

Ramadan and timing

Is Umrah in Ramadan equal to Hajj?

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said Umrah in Ramadan equals Hajj in reward, reported in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. It does not remove the obligation to perform Hajj itself.

When is Ramadan 2027?

Around 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting.

How much more does Ramadan cost?

40 to 70 per cent above off-peak, and more again for the last ten nights.

When should I book for the last ten nights?

As early as you can. Rooms near the Haram for that window sell out earlier than any other date in the year.

Is Manchester Airport busier in Ramadan?

The Jeddah and Madinah desks certainly are. Three hours becomes a minimum rather than a comfortable margin.

Best month if I cannot go in Ramadan?

October or November. Mild weather, low crowds, lowest prices.

Is August a bad time?

It is 38 to 45 degrees in Makkah and Manchester is at its busiest. If school holidays are your only window, book close to the Haram and do Tawaf at Fajr or after midnight.

Anything else

Can women travel without a Mahram?

Under current Saudi rules, women aged 18 and over may perform Umrah as part of an organised group without a Mahram. Confirm the position for your specific travel date.

Can I change my dates after booking?

Usually, subject to airline and hotel rules. Tell us early, because change costs rise sharply near departure.

What if my flight is cancelled?

Message your agent. Everything is on one ticket, so the airline reroutes you and we rearrange the ground side around it.

Who do I contact while I am out there?

The same agent who built your booking, on WhatsApp, at any hour.

Can I add a holiday afterwards?

Yes. Turkey, Dubai, Egypt and Pakistan combinations all work from Manchester. See special packages.

Can I book hotels only, without flights?

Yes, if you already have your visa and flights. Ask for a land only quote.

Is this page the same as your Manchester city page?

No. The Manchester city page is about booking Umrah if you live in Manchester. This one is about flying out of the airport, which plenty of people do from Blackburn, Bradford, Preston and further.

Where can I read more?

Our blog covers Ziyarat sites and the practical side, and the packages hub has every tier and month in one place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is Umrah and who can perform it?

Umrah is a voluntary Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year. It is open to all Muslims worldwide, regardless of age or gender, provided women under 45 are accompanied by a Mahram.

Hajj is the compulsory annual pilgrimage performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage that can be performed throughout the year and is often referred to as the “lesser pilgrimage.”

The actual rituals of Umrah — Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Halq or Taqsir — can be completed in a few hours. However, most pilgrims spend 7 to 14 days in Saudi Arabia to maximise their time in worship at the Haram.

Umrah can be performed throughout the year. However, Ramadan is considered the most spiritually rewarding time, as performing Umrah during this month holds the reward equivalent to Hajj. January to March also offer cooler temperatures and a peaceful atmosphere.

Our Umrah packages typically include return flights from the UK, hotel accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, Umrah visa processing, and 24/7 customer support. Full details are listed on each individual package page.
