More Than Just Umrah Packages
QUICK ANSWER: Packages Umrah arranges all-inclusive Umrah packages for Livingston and West Lothian pilgrims from £645/pp for 7 nights (3-star, off-peak months). Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is approximately 15 miles east of Livingston on the M8 motorway — approximately 20 minutes by car. Glasgow Airport (GLA) is approximately 35 miles west on the same M8 — approximately 35–40 minutes. Livingston sits on Scotland’s main motorway, giving motorway-direct access to both airports. We check both for every Livingston quote. Secure your place with a £99 deposit. ATOL protected. WhatsApp +44 7737 144335 — same-day quote.
Livingston is West Lothian’s largest town — a planned new town built from the 1960s onwards on the M8 motorway corridor between Edinburgh and Glasgow. It is a town of approximately 57,000 people that came into existence without the centuries of organic growth that shaped Scotland’s historic cities. Livingston was designed — its road network, its housing estates, its shopping centre, its industrial parks — with specific purpose. And one of the purposes that its M8 position serves particularly well, though it was not in the original town planners’ brief, is Umrah travel logistics.
Livingston’s Muslim community of approximately 3,000–5,000 people — roughly 5–8% of the town’s population — is concentrated primarily in the Howden, Dedridge, and Craigshill areas. It is a community of predominantly Pakistani and Bangladeshi heritage that has built its Islamic institutions in a town that, unlike historic Scottish cities, has no medieval roots — just a mosque, a Muslim community, and the M8 motorway running straight east to Edinburgh Airport and straight west toward Glasgow.
No dedicated Livingston Umrah page exists from any UK operator. Livingston Muslims are directed to Edinburgh or Glasgow pages without any Livingston-specific guidance. This page addresses the specific logistical reality of Livingston’s M8 position, the West Lothian school holiday dates, and the character of the Livingston Muslim community in this planned West Lothian new town.
Packages Umrah is operated by Uraan Travel Ltd (7 Huxley Avenue, Manchester M8 0SJ). We arrange all-inclusive Umrah packages for Livingston and West Lothian pilgrims. WhatsApp +44 7737 144335 or visit packagesumrah.co.uk.
Livingston sits directly on the M8 motorway — the main Glasgow-Edinburgh motorway. Edinburgh Airport is 15 miles east on M8. Glasgow Airport is 35 miles west on M8. Both are motorway-direct from Livingston with no A-roads, roundabouts, or city traffic between Livingston and either terminal. This dual motorway-direct airport access is unique in Scotland.

Livingston’s M8 advantage over Edinburgh city Muslims: most Edinburgh Muslims drive 8 miles to EDI via the A8 — a route that passes through city traffic near the airport. Livingston Muslims drive 15 miles on the M8 entirely — no city traffic at any point. The Livingston M8 to EDI drive at 3am is one of Scotland’s cleanest pre-dawn airport runs.
All prices include return flights (from EDI as standard, GLA when advised), Umrah visa, named Makkah hotel (Haram distance confirmed in metres before deposit), named Madinah hotel, Rawdah visiting slot pre-booked, and all Saudi Arabia transport. Prices are £20 per person below UK market rates.

Livingston does not have the centuries of Muslim community building that Blackburn or Bradford possess. It is a new town — built in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s — and its Muslim community came to it as the town itself was being constructed. Pakistani and Bangladeshi Muslim families who arrived in Livingston in those early decades found a town without established neighbourhoods, without historical character, without the cultural memory that older Scottish cities carry. They built their community from scratch alongside everyone else who was doing the same in this planned West Lothian settlement.
The result is a Muslim community that is very much a Livingston community — one that identifies with the town, that has established its mosque in the town’s institutional fabric, and that participates in West Lothian’s civic life as Livingston residents. The Livingston Muslim community is not divided from the town’s other residents by a history of separate existence — it grew up with the town.
The residential areas of Howden (EH54), Dedridge (EH54), and Craigshill (EH54) in central Livingston have the highest concentrations of Pakistani and Bangladeshi Muslim families. These are the planned housing estates that form Livingston’s residential core — streets of semi-detached and terraced housing, community centres, parks, and local facilities that characterise new town planning. The mosque serving Livingston’s Muslim community is the focal point for Islamic practice and community organisation in these areas.
Livingston sits at the heart of Scotland’s Silicon Glen — the corridor of technology and electronics manufacturing that runs along the M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Companies including Motorola, NEC, and others have operated large facilities in Livingston and the surrounding West Lothian area. The tech industry has brought Muslim workers from across Scotland, the UK, and internationally to the area. For Muslim tech professionals based in Livingston, the M8 motorway makes Edinburgh Airport a genuinely short commute to international travel — a 20-minute drive east. The Umrah trip from Livingston for a working professional is logistically simpler than for almost any other Scottish Muslim community.
Livingston’s Muslim community reflects the new town’s openness to diverse residents. Alongside the established Pakistani and Bangladeshi community, Livingston has Muslim residents from East Africa, the Arab world, and South East Asia — workers and families who came to West Lothian through the tech industry, the NHS (St John’s Hospital in Livingston is one of Scotland’s major hospitals), and education. This diversity gives Livingston’s Muslim community a breadth that smaller and more historically rooted Scottish Muslim communities may not share.

We check both airports for Bathgate and Whitburn bookings as we do for Livingston.
West Lothian school holidays: West Lothian Council schools use Scottish holiday dates — different from English schools and sometimes from other Scottish councils. Always confirm exact West Lothian Council school holiday dates before booking any Umrah package.

Livingston was built with purpose — roads, housing, industry, community placed with deliberate planning on the M8 between Scotland’s two great cities. The Muslim community that came to Livingston participated in that building — arriving to find a town without a past, building a future alongside everyone else who was doing the same, and establishing the mosque and community institutions that now anchor Islamic life in West Lothian.
The M8 motorway that defines Livingston’s geography gives its Muslim pilgrims a specific gift: Edinburgh Airport in 20 minutes east, Glasgow Airport in 40 minutes west, both entirely motorway-direct. The pre-dawn airport run that challenges pilgrims in Aberdeen, Inverness, Dundee, and even Edinburgh city itself is, for Livingston, straightforward. The M8 on-ramp at 3am, eastbound to EDI. Fifteen miles. Fifteen minutes at that hour. The pilgrimage has already begun.
From £645/pp all-inclusive. EDI (15 miles east on M8) or GLA (35 miles west on M8) as advised. Named hotel before deposit. ATOL Certificate at booking. £99 deposit secures your place. Same-day quotes for Livingston, Bathgate, Broxburn, Whitburn, and all of West Lothian.

Umrah is a voluntary Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year. It is open to all Muslims worldwide, regardless of age or gender, provided women under 45 are accompanied by a Mahram.
Hajj is the compulsory annual pilgrimage performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage that can be performed throughout the year and is often referred to as the “lesser pilgrimage.”
The actual rituals of Umrah — Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Halq or Taqsir — can be completed in a few hours. However, most pilgrims spend 7 to 14 days in Saudi Arabia to maximise their time in worship at the Haram.
Umrah can be performed throughout the year. However, Ramadan is considered the most spiritually rewarding time, as performing Umrah during this month holds the reward equivalent to Hajj. January to March also offer cooler temperatures and a peaceful atmosphere.
Our Umrah packages typically include return flights from the UK, hotel accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, Umrah visa processing, and 24/7 customer support. Full details are listed on each individual package page.
