How to Perform Umrah

1. Ihram

Before crossing the Miqat: ghusl or wudu, Ihram garments (two white cloths for men, modest clothing for women), niyyah, Talbiyah. Observe Ihram rules until your Umrah is complete.

2. Tawaf

Seven anti-clockwise circuits of the Kaaba, starting at the Black Stone. Men do Raml (brisk walk) in circuits 1 to 3. Pray 2 rakahs at Maqam Ibrahim afterwards. Drink Zamzam water.

3. Sa’i

Seven walks between Safa and Marwah. The corridor is enclosed, air-conditioned and wheelchair-accessible.

4. Halq or Taqsir

Men shave the head or trim. Women trim a small amount from the ends of the hair. Umrah is complete.
