Bradford is unlike any other UK city in one specific regard: the proportion of its population that is Muslim. More than a quarter of Bradford’s population — approximately 130,000 people out of under 500,000 — is Muslim. In Manningham, Girlington, Great Horton, Lidget Green, and Bradford Moor, the Muslim presence is not a demographic statistic. It is the texture of daily life. The adhan from Bradford Grand Mosque reaching Manningham Lane. The Ramadan atmosphere on Oak Lane. The constant flow of families between mosques, madrasahs, and the community structures that make Bradford’s Muslim community one of the most cohesive and observant in England.
In this community, Umrah is not an aspiration held at a polite distance. It is a regular practice. Families who have performed it once plan the next one. Parents save for years to take their British-born children to see the Kaaba. Grandparents in their 70s make their first pilgrimage with adult grandchildren. Bradford’s Muslim community travels for Umrah at a rate that few UK cities outside London match — and the intention runs through the mosques, the madrasahs, and the family conversations of this city every single year.
Packages Umrah is operated by Uraan Travel Ltd (7 Huxley Avenue, Manchester M8 0SJ). We arrange Umrah for Bradford pilgrims with the same all-inclusive pricing and ATOL protection as our Manchester packages. WhatsApp +44 7737 144335 or visit packagesumrah.co.uk.
IMPORTANT: Several Bradford Umrah websites advertise departures ‘from Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA)’ without clearly explaining that LBA does not operate regular Saudi Arabia Umrah routes. In practice, most Bradford Umrah packages depart from Manchester Airport (MAN), 42 miles west on the M62. We explain both options honestly so you can make an informed decision.
Manchester Airport is the practical departure point for the vast majority of Bradford Umrah packages. Here is what this means in practice for Bradford pilgrims:
Detail | Manchester Airport (MAN) |
Distance from Bradford city centre | ~42 miles |
Route | Bradford → M606 → M62 West → M60 Ring Road → M56 → Manchester Airport |
Drive time (off-peak, no traffic) | 45–55 minutes |
Drive time (morning traffic) | 55–75 minutes |
Train option | Bradford Interchange → Leeds → Manchester Piccadilly → Manchester Airport. Approximately 75–90 minutes total. |
Taxi cost from Bradford | Approximately £45–65 for a private hire vehicle |
Minibus for a family/group | Approximately £65–90 for a 7-8 seat vehicle |
Saudi Arabia routes | Connecting flights via Istanbul, Dubai, or Doha to Jeddah or Madinah |
Umrah frequency | High — regular Umrah flights throughout the year |
ATOL-protected packages available | Yes — all our Bradford packages via MAN are ATOL protected |
The 45–60 minute drive from Bradford to Manchester Airport is the standard experience for Bradford Umrah pilgrims. Most Bradford families travel to MAN by private hire vehicle — a family of 4 sharing a private hire is both more cost-effective and more practical than four individual train tickets with luggage. For Bradford mosque groups of 10+, a minibus or coach to MAN is the standard format.
Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) is approximately 8 miles north of Bradford city centre — significantly closer and more convenient than Manchester Airport. For Bradford pilgrims, LBA would be the obvious choice if it operated full Umrah routes. The reality:
Detail | Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) |
Distance from Bradford city centre | ~8 miles north |
Drive time | 15–20 minutes |
Saudi Arabia direct routes | Very limited — LBA does not currently operate regular Jeddah or Madinah Umrah services |
Connecting Saudi routes | Some indirect options via European hubs — limited and seasonal. Not comparable to MAN’s range. |
ATOL-protected Umrah packages from LBA | Available for limited routes — confirm specific availability at time of booking |
Our recommendation | Manchester Airport (MAN) gives significantly more routing options, better prices, and more reliable flight schedules for Bradford Umrah pilgrims |
Our honest recommendation: if LBA has a suitable direct Umrah routing available at a price comparable to MAN for your specific dates — take it. The 15-minute journey beats 55 minutes every time. But in practice, most Bradford Umrah pilgrims fly from Manchester Airport because the routing range, price points, and scheduling is significantly better. We will always tell you which option is available and better for your specific departure date, not assume one airport over the other.
For Bradford families managing the MAN journey with luggage, elderly family members, or young children:
All prices are genuinely all-inclusive: return flights (departing MAN or LBA as available), Umrah visa, named Makkah hotel with Haram distance confirmed in metres before deposit, named Madinah hotel, Rawdah visit pre-booked, and all Saudi Arabia transport. Prices are £20 per person below current UK market rates for comparable packages.

Bradford’s Muslim community has a specific character that distinguishes it from every other UK city. The majority are of Pakistani and Mirpuri Kashmiri heritage — families whose grandparents came to Bradford in the 1960s to work in the textile mills, who built mosques in Victorian terraced houses, who established a community so deeply rooted that their grandchildren are now third-generation Bradford Muslims who have never known another home. The Umrah tradition in these families is multi-generational. Grandparents who performed Hajj or Umrah in the 1980s or 1990s took their children, who are now taking their own children. The pilgrimage runs through Bradford’s Muslim families like a thread.
Manningham (BD8, BD9) is Bradford’s most densely Muslim-populated area. Manningham Lane and Oak Lane are the commercial and social arteries of the community — Pakistani restaurants, halal butchers, Islamic bookshops, and sari shops interspersed with mosques and madrasahs. Bradford Grand Mosque on Westgate and the numerous other mosques in Manningham serve a community where mosque attendance is genuinely high and the connection between mosque life and pilgrimage intention is direct.
For Manningham families booking Umrah, the pattern is well-established: the intention is discussed after Jumu’ah, the booking enquiry comes a week later, and the departure date is set 2–4 months ahead. For Manningham mosque groups of 10–20, our coordinated group package from £625/pp handles the simultaneous visa processing, shared transport to Manchester Airport, and hotel floor coordination that makes the group trip manageable for the organiser.
Girlington (BD8) and Lidget Green (BD7) are established Pakistani Muslim neighbourhoods with strong Kashmiri-heritage communities. The Barelwi and Deobandi mosque traditions both have significant presence in these areas — the Umrah culture is consistent across both traditions, though the specific scholarly guidance on certain Umrah questions may vary. Toller Ward extends the Girlington community further west. For Girlington and Lidget Green families, Manchester Airport is a 45–50 minute drive on the M606 to M62 route.
Great Horton (BD7) and Little Horton (BD5) have significant Pakistani and Bangladeshi Muslim populations alongside an established South Asian Hindu community. Bradford Moor (BD3) is a predominantly Pakistani Muslim area with strong Kashmiri roots. These areas have active mosque communities and consistent Umrah travel patterns. The specific characteristic of Bradford Moor’s Umrah culture: multiple generations travelling together — elderly grandparents, middle-aged parents, and young adults in their 20s on a single booking — is one of the most common Bradford group formats we arrange.
Heaton (BD9) is a more mixed-income Muslim area with an established Pakistani community. Shipley (BD18) and Bingley (BD16) are in the Bradford Metropolitan District further north, with smaller but active Muslim communities. For Shipley and Bingley residents, Manchester Airport remains the most practical departure point — the M62 via Bradford is a 55–65 minute journey from these locations.
Our Bradford packages serve the full West Yorkshire Muslim community — Bradford is simply the largest centre of a Yorkshire Muslim geography that extends in every direction:
Yorkshire Town | Distance to MAN | Muslim Community | Umrah Departure |
Bradford (BD1–BD10) | ~42 miles, M62 | UK’s highest Muslim % of population. 130,000 Muslims. Mirpuri Kashmiri majority. | MAN primary. LBA if available for specific routes. |
Keighley (BD21–BD22) | ~50 miles to MAN | Significant Pakistani community. Part of Bradford Metropolitan District. | MAN via Bradford/M62 route. |
Leeds (LS1–LS17) | ~43 miles to MAN | ~70,000 Muslims. Harehills, Beeston, Hyde Park, Chapeltown. | MAN via M62. Some Leeds pilgrims also use Bradford packages. |
Dewsbury (WF12–WF13) | ~45 miles to MAN | Strong Deobandi Muslim community. Markaz area. High Umrah frequency. | MAN via M62. Dewsbury has its own strong Umrah travel culture. |
Batley (WF17) | ~40 miles to MAN | Pakistani/Kashmiri community. Active Umrah bookings. | MAN via M62. |
Halifax (HX1–HX3) | ~45 miles to MAN | Pakistani Muslim community. Calderdale District. | MAN via M62 or M66. |
Huddersfield (HD1–HD5) | ~40 miles to MAN | Significant Pakistani and Bangladeshi Muslim community. Kirklees District. | MAN via M62. |
Wakefield (WF1–WF2) | ~50 miles to MAN | Pakistani Muslim community in Eastmoor, Lupset areas. | MAN via M62. |
Dewsbury note: Dewsbury has a specifically active Umrah community rooted in its large Deobandi Islamic tradition. The town has a higher-than-average Umrah travel frequency for its size. Bradford packages serve Dewsbury pilgrims effectively — Manchester Airport is approximately 45 minutes from Dewsbury on the M62.

Seven nights suits Bradford working families with limited annual leave — 5 working days if departing Thursday and returning Thursday. Four Makkah nights and 3 Madinah nights. You complete Umrah, experience the Haram across 4 days, visit the Rawdah, and complete essential Madinah Ziyarat including Quba and the Uhud martyrs’ cemetery. For Bradford families where the parents are still working and annual leave is a precious resource, 7 nights makes the Umrah achievable. From £645/pp off-peak. Secure with £99 deposit.
Ten nights — 6 Makkah nights, 4 Madinah nights — is our most recommended duration for Bradford pilgrims. The additional Makkah days beyond the 7-night format are where the experience deepens. By Makkah night 4 or 5, the anxiety of managing rituals correctly has settled, the gate nearest your hotel is familiar, and you begin performing voluntary Tawaf not from obligation but from the simple desire to walk around the Kaaba again. That shift — from the Umrah as a ritual to be completed to the Haram as a place you do not want to leave — is what 10 nights gives you over 7. From £695/pp off-peak.
Twelve nights suits Bradford families in the Easter or Christmas school holiday window who want to maximise the experience, Bradford elderly pilgrims who need a more relaxed pace, and Bradford mosque groups wanting the complete Ziyarat programme in both cities. Seven Makkah nights and 5 Madinah nights. From £735/pp off-peak.
Two full weeks from Bradford. Eight Makkah nights, 6 Madinah nights. For Bradford pilgrims who have been planning this trip for years — perhaps saving since a parent made a promise that the whole family would go together one day — 14 nights gives that trip its fullest form. Multiple Umrahs, both Makkah mountain climbs, the entire Ziyarat programme, and the Madinah gardens in the evening across six consecutive nights. From £775/pp off-peak.
One of Bradford’s most distinctive Umrah patterns is the multi-generational trip: an elderly Bradford grandmother or grandfather, their adult child, and the adult child’s teenager or young adult all travelling together. The grandparent — perhaps first-generation British Pakistani — may never have performed Hajj or Umrah. The middle generation has the financial means and the logistical capacity. The youngest generation has the energy and the fluent English for navigating the booking process. This combination, planned across a kitchen table in BD8 or BD7, is one of the most common Bradford Umrah configurations we arrange.
For multi-generational Bradford families, 4-star accommodation is our consistent recommendation — the shorter walking distance to the Haram is specifically significant for the elderly family member, and the hotel’s slightly higher comfort level across 10–14 days makes the overall experience better for every generation.
Bradford has well over 100 mosques — an extraordinary concentration for a city of its size. Many of these mosque communities organise annual Umrah groups from Bradford. For group Umrah from Bradford mosques:
A significant proportion of Bradford’s elderly first-generation Pakistani and Kashmiri community are performing Umrah for the first time in their 60s, 70s, or older — many of them having deferred the intention for years due to family obligations, health concerns, or financial constraints. For these Bradford pilgrims, the specific package considerations are:
Bradford’s Muslim women’s community has a strong halaqah and Quran class culture. The sisters’ circle Umrah — 8 to 20 Bradford women travelling together, typically without a Mahram, using the current Saudi regulation that permits women aged 18+ to travel independently — is a growing format from Bradford. For Bradford women’s Umrah groups:
Ramadan 2027: approximately 8 February to 9 March 2027 (subject to moon sighting). Bradford’s Muslim community is exceptionally active in Ramadan Umrah bookings — the tradition of performing Umrah in Ramadan is deeply rooted in Bradford’s Pakistani and Kashmiri community. Manchester Airport’s Ramadan capacity fills quickly for Bradford bookings. Book Ramadan packages by September 2026.
Ramadan Period | Approx. Dates | Price (3★, 7N) | Booking Deadline | Bradford Specific Notes |
First Ashra | ~8–17 Feb 2027 | From £879/pp | October 2026 | Schools still in term. Parents-only Umrah typical for Bradford families. |
Second Ashra | ~18–27 Feb 2027 | From £899/pp | August 2026 | MAN seats reducing. Bradford community demand very high. |

Eid extension | ~9–16 Mar 2027 | From £879/pp | August 2026 | Post-Ramadan. Easter approaching. Some Bradford school holiday alignment. |

Which airport do Bradford Umrah pilgrims fly from?
Most Bradford Umrah packages depart from Manchester Airport (MAN), approximately 42 miles west on the M62 (45–60 minute drive). Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) is available for limited Umrah routes — we advise on the best option for your specific dates when you request a quote.
Why do most Bradford Umrah packages use Manchester Airport instead of Leeds Bradford Airport?
Because Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) does not currently operate regular Saudi Arabia Umrah routes. Manchester Airport (MAN) has significantly more connecting Umrah flights to Jeddah and Madinah throughout the year. The 45–60 minute drive from Bradford to MAN is the standard Bradford Umrah experience.
How do I get from Bradford to Manchester Airport?
By car or private hire: M606 from Bradford → M62 West → M60 Ring Road → M56 → MAN. Approximately 45–60 minutes (off-peak). By train: Bradford Interchange → Leeds → Manchester Piccadilly → Manchester Airport — approximately 75–90 minutes total. Pre-booked private hire is the most practical option for families with luggage.
How much does a taxi or private hire from Bradford to Manchester Airport cost?
Approximately £45–65 for a standard private hire car. A 7–8 seat minibus for a family or small group: approximately £65–90. Pre-book the night before — do not rely on apps for 3–4am airport departures.
Can Bradford pilgrims fly from Leeds Bradford Airport?
We always check LBA availability for Bradford pilgrims when quoting. If a suitable LBA route exists for your dates at a comparable price, we will recommend it — the 15-minute journey is far more convenient than 55 minutes to MAN. In practice, LBA routes are limited and MAN is the more reliable Umrah departure for most Bradford bookings.
What is the cheapest Umrah package from Bradford?
From £645/pp for a 7-night, 3-star, all-inclusive off-peak package from Manchester Airport (November or January). Group rate (10+ Bradford pilgrims): from £625/pp.
How much is a 7 nights Umrah package from Bradford?
From £645/pp (3-star, off-peak months, all-inclusive). Includes flights from MAN, visa, both hotels, Rawdah booking, and all Saudi Arabia transport.
How much is a 10 nights Umrah package from Bradford?
From £695/pp (3-star, off-peak, all-inclusive). 6 Makkah nights + 4 Madinah nights — our most recommended duration.
How much is a 14 nights Umrah package from Bradford?
From £775/pp (3-star, off-peak, all-inclusive). Two full weeks — ideal for multi-generational Bradford family Umrah.
How much is the deposit to book?
£99 per person. This secures your flights, hotel block, and visa processing initiation. Balance is due 8 weeks before departure.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes — for bookings made 4+ months before departure, payment plan options are available. Contact us to discuss specific instalment arrangements for your Bradford booking.
How do I get a quote?
WhatsApp +44 7737 144335. Tell us your preferred month, number of travellers, star rating preference, duration, and any specific requirements. Same-day itemised quote.
Do you arrange group Umrah from Bradford mosques?
Yes — Bradford mosque group Umrah is one of our most common booking types for Yorkshire. Groups of 10+ from £625/pp. We coordinate shared transport from Bradford to MAN, same-flight seat allocation, same hotel floor, simultaneous visa processing, and coordinated Rawdah visits.
Do you serve Keighley, Dewsbury, Halifax, and Huddersfield?
Yes — our Bradford packages serve the entire West Yorkshire Muslim community. Keighley, Dewsbury, Batley, Halifax, Huddersfield, and Wakefield pilgrims all use Manchester Airport for Umrah. Journey times to MAN: Dewsbury ~45 mins, Huddersfield ~40 mins, Halifax ~45 mins.
Can Bradford women perform Umrah without a Mahram?
Yes — under current Saudi regulations, women aged 18+ can obtain their own Umrah visa and travel without a Mahram. We arrange women-only packages for Bradford sisters’ groups and individual women. Female liaison available — state your preference when WhatsApp-ing.
Do you arrange Umrah for Bradford elderly pilgrims taking elderly parents?
Yes — multi-generational Bradford family Umrah (elderly parent + adult child) is one of our most common formats. We arrange 4-star accommodation for the shorter walk to Haram, wheelchair assistance throughout, and Haramain train intercity transfer for elderly comfort.
Do you work with Bradford travel agents or mosques directly?
We welcome partnership enquiries from Bradford mosque committees and Islamic organisations looking to offer coordinated Umrah packages to their communities. WhatsApp us to discuss group booking arrangements.
Is the Umrah visa included?
Yes — included and processed through the official Saudi Nusuk portal. All Bradford group members processed simultaneously.
Is the Rawdah visit pre-booked?
Yes — we pre-book your Rawdah visiting slot before Bradford departure. You arrive in Madinah with a confirmed time for both men and women.
Are meals included?
Standard packages do not include meals — food is managed independently in Makkah and Madinah (approximately £15–25/day per person). Some 4-star and 5-star hotels include breakfast — stated explicitly at booking.
Are Bradford packages ATOL protected?
Yes — every flight-inclusive Bradford Umrah package is ATOL protected through Uraan Travel Ltd. Your ATOL Certificate is issued at booking.
Bradford’s Muslim community carries an Umrah intention that is different in character from most UK cities. It is not aspirational in the way of a distant dream. It is practical, planned, and passed down through families like any other significant family obligation. The Bradford grandmother who told her children that the whole family would go together one day. The Bradford father who has been saving since his daughter was born. The Bradford mosque group that organises the same November trip every year because it is the tradition now.
We arrange Umrah for Bradford pilgrims — from Manningham to Mirpuri families in Girlington, from Bradford Moor mosque groups to the elderly Kashmiri grandfather making his first and only Umrah at 74. Every format, every budget, every month. From £645/pp all-inclusive. £99 deposit secures your place. Same-day quotes for Bradford and the entire West Yorkshire community.
The M62 to Manchester Airport is 45 minutes from Bradford. The Kaaba is 7 hours after that. Both journeys are manageable. Let us handle the second one.

Umrah is a voluntary Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year. It is open to all Muslims worldwide, regardless of age or gender, provided women under 45 are accompanied by a Mahram.
Hajj is the compulsory annual pilgrimage performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage that can be performed throughout the year and is often referred to as the “lesser pilgrimage.”
The actual rituals of Umrah — Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Halq or Taqsir — can be completed in a few hours. However, most pilgrims spend 7 to 14 days in Saudi Arabia to maximise their time in worship at the Haram.
Umrah can be performed throughout the year. However, Ramadan is considered the most spiritually rewarding time, as performing Umrah during this month holds the reward equivalent to Hajj. January to March also offer cooler temperatures and a peaceful atmosphere.
Our Umrah packages typically include return flights from the UK, hotel accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, Umrah visa processing, and 24/7 customer support. Full details are listed on each individual package page.
