More Than Just Umrah Packages
QUICK ANSWER: Packages Umrah arranges all-inclusive Umrah packages for Luton pilgrims from £645/pp for 7 nights (3-star, off-peak months). Most Luton Umrah packages depart from London Heathrow (LHR, 30 miles south) which has the most reliable Umrah routes. London Luton Airport (LTN) is always checked for every quote — we recommend LTN when a suitable route exists. Secure your place with a £99 deposit. ATOL protected. WhatsApp +44 7737 144335 — same-day quote.
Luton is unlike most UK towns in one important respect: its Muslim population is not a community within the town — it is the town’s demographic majority in several wards. More than 25% of Luton’s population of approximately 220,000 is Muslim — giving the town one of the highest Muslim proportions of any urban area outside London. Bury Park, the famous Muslim commercial district centred on Bury Park Road, is one of the most nationally recognised Muslim community areas in England. The halal butchers, Islamic bookshops, South Asian clothing stores, and mosques that line Bury Park Road represent a community that has been established in Luton for two generations.
In this community, Umrah is not a conversation that needs to begin. It is already happening — in the mosques along Luton Road and Bury Park Road, in the family homes of Farley Hill and Challney, in the conversations after Jumu’ah at the Central Mosque. The question Luton Muslims ask is not ‘should we go?’ but ‘when do we go, and how do we make sure the package is genuinely all-inclusive and the price is what we actually pay?’
This page answers both questions honestly — and addresses the specific airport question that no Luton Umrah page handles clearly: where do Luton Muslims actually fly from?
Packages Umrah is operated by Uraan Travel Ltd (7 Huxley Avenue, Manchester M8 0SJ). We arrange all-inclusive Umrah packages for Luton pilgrims. WhatsApp +44 7737 144335 or visit packagesumrah.co.uk.
CRITICAL FACT: London Luton Airport (LTN) does not currently operate regular direct or connecting Umrah flights to Jeddah or Madinah. LTN is primarily a short-haul leisure and budget airline airport. The practical reality for Luton Umrah pilgrims: most packages depart from London Heathrow (LHR), which is approximately 30 miles from Luton — a 30–40 minute journey — and operates year-round Saudi Arabia Umrah routes. We always check LTN for Luton quotes. When LTN has a suitable route, we recommend it. When it doesn’t — which is most of the time — Heathrow is the answer.
London Luton Airport is Luton’s own airport — literally 3–4 miles from Luton town centre. It is convenient, familiar, and used by Luton residents for European holidays constantly. However, for Umrah specifically:
Detail | London Luton Airport (LTN) |
Distance from Luton town centre | ~3–4 miles north. Approximately 10 minutes by car. |
Train to LTN | Luton Airport Parkway station connects to Luton Parkway and then shuttle bus to terminal. From Luton town: 15–20 minutes total. |
Saudi Arabia direct/connecting Umrah routes | Not currently available. LTN does not operate Jeddah or Madinah Umrah routes at present. |
When LTN works for Luton pilgrims | If a specific connecting Umrah route via a European hub (e.g. Amsterdam or Istanbul) becomes available at comparable price — LTN’s 10-minute journey is a significant practical advantage. We check this for every Luton quote. |
Our recommendation | We check LTN for every Luton quote. Currently, no standard Umrah routes operate from LTN — but this can change seasonally. Confirmation provided at quote stage. |
London Heathrow is the primary departure airport for Luton Umrah pilgrims — approximately 30 miles south via the M1 and M25. While this may initially seem counterintuitive for a town with its own airport, Heathrow’s year-round Umrah route provision makes it the practical choice:
Detail | London Heathrow (LHR) for Luton Pilgrims |
Distance from Luton town centre | ~30 miles south. M1 southbound to M25 west to Heathrow. |
Drive time (off-peak) | 35–45 minutes |
Drive time (morning traffic / rush hour) | 45–75 minutes depending on M25 conditions |
Train to Heathrow | Luton Parkway → St Pancras International (Thameslink, ~35 mins) → London Underground (Piccadilly Line to Heathrow, ~45 mins). Total approximately 90–100 minutes. |
Saudi Arabia Umrah routes | Direct and connecting flights to Jeddah and Madinah year-round. Multiple airlines and departure times. |
Taxi from Luton to Heathrow | Approximately £50–75 for a private hire vehicle — varies by time of day |
Coach option | National Express runs between Luton and Heathrow. Journey approximately 70–90 minutes. |
Overall assessment | The standard departure airport for Luton Umrah packages. The 30-mile drive is manageable, especially in the early morning hours when Umrah flights typically depart. |
London Gatwick Airport (LGW) is approximately 55 miles south of Luton — further than Heathrow but offering additional Umrah routing options via different airlines and hubs. For Luton pilgrims whose specific Umrah dates align better with a Gatwick route, or for those in South Luton who find the M1/M25/M23 route to Gatwick practical, this is an option we can quote for. Journey time from Luton to Gatwick: approximately 60–80 minutes by car.
For Luton families driving to Heathrow for an early-morning Umrah departure:
All prices below are genuinely all-inclusive: return flights (from LHR primarily, or LTN if a suitable route is available), Umrah visa, named Makkah hotel with Haram distance confirmed in metres before deposit, named Madinah hotel, Rawdah visit pre-booked, and all Saudi Arabia transport. Prices are £20 per person below UK market rates for comparable packages — competitors serving Luton start at £720–£750/pp, we start at £645/pp.

Luton’s Muslim community has a specific identity that is shaped by its geography, its history, and its particular concentration. This is not a community spread evenly across a large city. It is a community concentrated in a relatively small town — which means the social density, the inter-community knowledge, and the collective Umrah travel culture are more intense than in larger cities.
Bury Park is nationally known in UK Muslim communities as one of the country’s most authentic Muslim commercial districts. Bury Park Road and the surrounding streets — with their halal butchers, gold jewellers, South Asian sweet shops, Islamic bookshops, travel agents, sari stores, and mosques — represent a community that has been established for over fifty years. The Jamia Masjid on Bury Park Road and the other mosques in this area serve thousands of Luton Muslims weekly.
For Bury Park families, the Umrah conversation is constant — it is the natural next step after the community structures of mosque, madrasah, and family are established. The travel agents on Bury Park Road have served this community for decades; but many Bury Park families now seek the competitive pricing available from UK-wide ATOL-protected operators like Packages Umrah rather than the local agents who may have higher overhead costs reflected in their prices.
Bury Park’s location in northwest Luton gives it direct access to the M1 motorway at junction 11 — making the Heathrow journey via M1 south to M25 west approximately 35–40 minutes from the Bury Park area.
Farley Hill (LU1) is a predominantly Pakistani Muslim neighbourhood with one of Luton’s highest Muslim population densities. The community here is well-established — second and third generation British Pakistani families who maintain strong Islamic practice through the local mosque network. Farley Hill’s proximity to the M1 at junction 10 makes the Heathrow journey straightforward.
Dallow (LU1) is adjacent to Bury Park and similarly predominantly Muslim. Together, Bury Park, Farley Hill, and Dallow form a continuous Muslim-majority area in west and southwest Luton. For these communities, group Umrah bookings — extended families of 10–20 travelling together — are among the most common formats.
Challney (LU4) in north Luton has a significant Pakistani and Bangladeshi Muslim community. Marsh Farm (LU3) is a large housing estate in north Luton with an increasingly diverse Muslim population. These north Luton communities use the M1 junction 11a approach to Heathrow — slightly further north than the Bury Park junction 11 access point but still manageable at 40–50 minutes.
While Luton’s Muslim community is predominantly Pakistani and Kashmiri heritage, the town has significant additional Muslim communities:
Concentrated in parts of Dallow and central Luton, with active mosque connections and consistent Umrah travel patterns similar to the Pakistani community.
Luton has a significant Somali Muslim community — one of the larger Somali communities in the Home Counties. Many Somali families in Luton are making their first Umrah as their economic stability and UK settlement becomes established.
Luton has a notable Afghani Muslim community — families who arrived in various immigration waves and have established a presence in the town. Umrah travel is a consistent intention within this community.
Luton has historically had a Yemeni Muslim community alongside more recently arrived Arab families. The Umrah intention in these communities is high — connecting with the Arabian Peninsula of their heritage through the pilgrimage.
Luton is the largest city in Bedfordshire and the practical hub for much of the county’s Muslim community. Our Luton packages serve pilgrims from across Bedfordshire and the surrounding Home Counties:
Location | Distance to LHR | Muslim Community | Notes |
Luton (all areas) | ~30 miles, M1/M25 | ~55,000+ Muslims. Bury Park, Farley Hill, Dallow, Challney. | Our primary Luton service area. |
Bedford (MK40–MK43) | ~45 miles to LHR | Pakistani and Bangladeshi Muslim community in central Bedford. | LHR is the practical departure airport. M1 south from Bedford. |
Dunstable (LU5, LU6) | ~35 miles to LHR | Part of the Luton/Dunstable urban area. Pakistani Muslim community. | Very close to Luton — same package and airport arrangement as Luton. |
Leighton Buzzard (LU7) | ~40 miles to LHR | Smaller Muslim community in South Beds. Growing Pakistani population. | Heathrow via M1. Close enough for Luton-based packages. |
Hitchin (SG4–SG5) | ~30 miles to LHR | Pakistani Muslim community. North Hertfordshire. | LHR via A1(M) to M25 or M1. Very accessible from Hitchin. |
Stevenage (SG1–SG2) | ~35 miles to LHR | Pakistani and Bangladeshi Muslim community. | LHR via A1(M). Practical Heathrow access. |
Milton Keynes (MK1–MK15) | ~50 miles to LHR | Large and diverse Muslim community. Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Somali. | M1 to M25 to LHR. Some MK pilgrims prefer LTN or LHR — we advise. |
Watford (WD17–WD19) | ~20 miles to LHR | Pakistani and South Asian Muslim community. Close to Heathrow. | One of the most Heathrow-proximate Muslim towns in England. |

Seven nights from Heathrow suits Luton working families with standard annual leave. Five working days if departing Thursday. Four Makkah nights, 3 Madinah nights. Complete Umrah, Rawdah, and essential Madinah Ziyarat. The 30-mile Heathrow drive is a manageable addition to the Umrah preparation rather than a logistical obstacle. From £645/pp off-peak. £99 deposit secures your place.
Ten nights — 6 Makkah nights, 4 Madinah nights — is our most recommended format for Luton pilgrims. The extra three Makkah days over the 7-night format are consistently described by returning pilgrims as the most valuable addition they could make to the trip. By Makkah night 4, the Haram has become a space you inhabit rather than visit. Voluntary Tawaf after Isha because you want to, not because the itinerary says so. From £695/pp off-peak.
Twelve nights suits Luton families using the full Easter or Christmas holiday, elderly Luton pilgrims who need the gentler pace of more time in each city, and Luton mosque groups wanting the complete Ziyarat programme in both cities. Seven Makkah nights, 5 Madinah nights. From £735/pp off-peak.
Two full weeks — 8 Makkah nights, 6 Madinah nights. For Luton pilgrims for whom this is the once-in-a-generation family trip — the grandparents brought from Bury Park for their first Umrah, the parents who planned this for 20 years, the adult children who saved alongside them — 14 nights gives everyone the time they need. From £775/pp off-peak.
Luton’s Muslim community has a strong extended family group Umrah culture — partly because the community’s social density means multiple families in the same area often plan together. The pattern of 10–20 people from 2–3 extended families departing together from Heathrow, staying on the same hotel floor in Makkah, and performing the rituals alongside each other is common from Luton. For these groups:
For Luton families with children in Luton Borough Council schools, the key Umrah windows are:
For Luton’s first-generation Pakistani and Kashmiri community — who came to work in the Vauxhall factory and the other Luton industries of the 1960s and 1970s and built the community that surrounds Bury Park Road today — the first Umrah in their 60s or 70s is the realisation of a life-long intention. For these Luton elderly pilgrims:
For Luton Muslim women performing Umrah without a Mahram — solo or in a women’s group — current Saudi regulations permit women aged 18+ to obtain their own visa and travel independently. For Luton sisters’ circles and mosque women’s groups:
Ramadan 2027 begins approximately 8 February 2027 (subject to moon sighting). Luton’s Muslim community is particularly active in Ramadan Umrah bookings — the density of Bury Park’s community means the Ramadan pilgrimage intention is almost universal among observant families. Heathrow’s Ramadan seats for this community fill very quickly. Book by September 2026.
Ramadan Period | Approx. Dates | Price (3★, 7N) | Booking Deadline | Luton Notes |
First Ashra (1–10) | ~8–17 Feb 2027 | From £879/pp | October 2026 | Full Ramadan. Luton schools in term. Parents-only Umrah typical from Bury Park. |
Second Ashra (11–20) | ~18–27 Feb 2027 | From £899/pp | August 2026 | Heathrow seats filling rapidly. Luton Ramadan demand very high. |
Last Ashra (21–29) | ~28 Feb–8 Mar 2027 | From £979/pp | July 2026 | Laylatul Qadr. Most sought window from Luton. Book immediately. |
Post-Ramadan/Shawwal | ~9–16 Mar 2027 | From £879/pp | August 2026 | Easter approaching. Some Luton school holiday alignment from late March. |

Do Luton Umrah packages fly from Luton Airport?
Most Luton Umrah packages depart from London Heathrow (LHR, approximately 30 miles south). London Luton Airport (LTN) does not currently operate regular Jeddah or Madinah Umrah routes. We check LTN for every Luton quote — if a suitable route exists, we recommend it. Currently, Heathrow is the standard departure for Luton pilgrims.
Why can’t I fly from Luton Airport (LTN) to Saudi Arabia for Umrah?
LTN primarily operates short-haul European leisure routes. It does not currently have the Saudi Arabia Umrah route provision of larger hubs like Heathrow. LTN routes to Saudi Arabia via European hubs exist occasionally but are not standard for all-inclusive Umrah packages. This situation can change — we always check LTN current availability when quoting.
How far is Heathrow from Luton?
Approximately 30 miles south of Luton town centre. By car via M1 south and M25 west: 35–45 minutes off-peak. At 3–4am for an early Umrah departure: approximately 30–35 minutes on a clear motorway. By train: Luton Parkway to St Pancras then Piccadilly Line to Heathrow — approximately 90–100 minutes.
How do I get from Luton to Heathrow?
By private hire car (most practical for families with luggage): approximately £50–75. Pre-book the day before. By National Express coach: Luton stops at various Heathrow terminals — approximately 70–90 minutes journey. By train: approximately 90–100 minutes total. For Luton groups of 10+, a private minibus from Bury Park to Heathrow is the most practical group option.
Can Luton pilgrims fly from Gatwick instead?
Yes — Gatwick (LGW) is approximately 55 miles from Luton and offers additional Umrah routing options. We can quote for Gatwick departures. Journey from Luton to Gatwick: approximately 60–80 minutes by car.
What is the cheapest Umrah package from Luton?
From £645/pp for a 7-night, 3-star, all-inclusive off-peak package from Heathrow (November or January). Group rate (10+ Luton pilgrims): from £625/pp.
How much is a 7 nights Umrah package from Luton?
From £645/pp (3-star, off-peak months, all-inclusive from Heathrow). Includes return flights, Umrah visa, Makkah hotel, Madinah hotel, Rawdah booking, and all Saudi Arabia transport.
How much is a 10 nights Umrah package from Luton?
From £695/pp (3-star, off-peak, all-inclusive). Our most recommended duration — 6 Makkah nights + 4 Madinah nights.
How much is a 14 nights Umrah package from Luton?
From £775/pp (3-star, off-peak, all-inclusive). Two full weeks — 8 Makkah nights + 6 Madinah nights.
Why are other Luton Umrah agencies more expensive?
Most Luton Umrah packages start at £720–£750/pp. Our packages start at £645/pp — approximately £75–105 per person cheaper. The difference: we keep overhead lean as a UK-wide operator without expensive Luton high-street premises. The package quality (ATOL protection, named hotel, Rawdah pre-booked) is identical or superior.
How much deposit do I need?
£99 per person. Balance due 8 weeks before departure.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes — for bookings 4+ months before departure. Contact us for payment plan options for your Luton booking.
How do I book?
WhatsApp +44 7737 144335. Tell us your preferred month, number of travellers, star rating, duration, and departure preference (LHR or LTN). Same-day quote.
Do you arrange group Umrah from Bury Park mosques?
Yes — Bury Park mosque group Umrah from £625/pp (10+). Group minibus to Heathrow coordinated. Same-flight seat allocation. Same hotel floor in both cities. Coordinated Rawdah visits.
Do you serve Bedford, Dunstable, and Milton Keynes?
Yes — we serve the full Bedfordshire and Home Counties Muslim community. Bedford pilgrims use Heathrow via M1. Dunstable is essentially part of the Luton urban area. Milton Keynes pilgrims use M1 south to Heathrow.
Do you arrange Umrah for Luton’s Somali and Afghani Muslim communities?
Yes — all Luton Muslim communities are served. UK passport holders of all nationalities are eligible for Saudi Umrah visas through the standard Nusuk process. We advise on any specific documentation requirements.
Can Luton women perform Umrah without a Mahram?
Yes — under current Saudi regulations, women aged 18+ can obtain their own Umrah visa and travel without a Mahram. We arrange women-only packages and sisters’ group packages from Luton. Female liaison available.
Do you arrange Umrah for Luton elderly pilgrims?
Yes — 4-star proximity packages with wheelchair assistance from Heathrow through to the Haram. October or November departure strongly recommended for elderly Luton pilgrims.
Is the Umrah visa included?
Yes — included and processed through the official Saudi Nusuk portal. All Luton group members processed simultaneously.
Is the Rawdah visit included?
Yes — Rawdah visiting slot pre-booked before Luton/Heathrow departure. Confirmed time for men and women at designated windows.
Are meals included?
Standard packages do not include meals. Food budget in Makkah: approximately £15–25/day per person. Some 4-star and 5-star hotels include breakfast — confirmed at booking.
Are Luton packages ATOL protected?
Yes — every flight-inclusive Luton Umrah package is ATOL protected through Uraan Travel Ltd. ATOL Certificate issued at booking.
The journey from Luton to Makkah starts in a Bury Park family home or a Dallow mosque, with a conversation that has been happening in this community for fifty years. It starts with the intention — formed in prayer, confirmed across a kitchen table, announced to the family at Sunday dinner. The logistics come later: the Heathrow drive, the connecting flight, the Haramain train, the Haram. These are manageable. The intention is what matters.
Our packages are built to handle the logistics completely — the flight from Heathrow confirmed, the visa in your name before you leave, the hotel named and its Haram distance stated, the Rawdah slot booked before you land in Madinah. A £99 deposit holds your place. The balance comes later. The Umrah comes sooner than you might expect.
From £645/pp all-inclusive. Departing Heathrow. Named hotel before deposit. ATOL Certificate at booking. Same-day quotes for Luton, Bedfordshire, and all Home Counties enquiries.

Umrah is a voluntary Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year. It is open to all Muslims worldwide, regardless of age or gender, provided women under 45 are accompanied by a Mahram.
Hajj is the compulsory annual pilgrimage performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage that can be performed throughout the year and is often referred to as the “lesser pilgrimage.”
The actual rituals of Umrah — Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Halq or Taqsir — can be completed in a few hours. However, most pilgrims spend 7 to 14 days in Saudi Arabia to maximise their time in worship at the Haram.
Umrah can be performed throughout the year. However, Ramadan is considered the most spiritually rewarding time, as performing Umrah during this month holds the reward equivalent to Hajj. January to March also offer cooler temperatures and a peaceful atmosphere.
Our Umrah packages typically include return flights from the UK, hotel accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport transfers, Umrah visa processing, and 24/7 customer support. Full details are listed on each individual package page.
